They are trying to fix the issue but has been ongoing for two days.

Let's talk about mini grooms! With this groom we don't clip the hair on the body but we tidy up feet, hygiene areas and around your dogs eyes. It's a wonderful introductory groom for puppies, or for maintenance in between full haircuts. Heres Rusty and Rio showing off their recent mini grooms ❤️

At the moment there is a shortage of Paralysis Tick antiserum. Apparently the low stock levels is because of the increase in cases this year.
Please use a prevantative and check your dogs every day. Many groomers are finding them on customers dogs and the Vets are battling to get stock of the antiserum.
Keeping your dogs hair shorter will make them easier to find, but its up to us to search for them on our 4 legged friends, in between toes, in ears, under tails. They hide anywhere.

Just a quick reminder
Its time to start applying Tick prevention treatments.
Our local Vets and residents have started to see and removing Paralysis ticks on our 4 legged friends.
WINTER GROOMING IS IMPORTANT
Keeping your pets free from knots is the most important thing you can do to keep them warm.
If you are struggling with this, book them in for a Mini Groom includes bath, blowdry, brushout, face and feet tidied and nails clipped along with the hygiene areas.
If you wish to use coats/ jackets etc you must take off during the day and you will need to give them a quick brush to remove those tangles from the rubbing on the jacket we put on.
I personally don't use coats or jackets I just add a soft warm blanket to there bedding. Any dog who has a double coat and most breeds do, please watch they are not getting matted on tummys , chest and around neck.
We can do a bath and blowdry, mini grooms and of course full grooms. If your pup is getting knots please don't wash him those knots will stay wet for days and he / she will be cold and skin will suffer.

He was a absolute delight 🥰
10 years in Burpengary.
Its hard to believe it has been that long since we opened in Burpengary.
I look back at the last 10 years and its you, our customers, who have made this such an exciting journey for all of us.
We have groomed dogs to attend their owners wedding. We have seen our customers expand the human families and are watching their children grow up. We have seen clients move away for work and then come back. My own daughter has just graduated from University and is now teaching High School English and Drama in Mackay.
We have clients who have been with us since our first week and love seeing you coming in and having a chat.
And yes we have had our sad moments when you have lost your furry friend, we feel your loss and when we talk to you we certainly mean it when we say don't be a stranger pop in say hello, we miss you as well.
We have customers who have rescued and watching those dogs grow in confidence and health under the love you give them is a pleasure.
As Groomers we have a natural love for animals but it is you the owners who have become friends, part of our community at Hairy Barkers Burpengary.
We are going to open Mondays.
We have noticed over the last few years, there has been far more demand but we have not had the staff.
One of our groomers who went to Sydney has returned so this allows us to offer Monday Grooming.
Hairy Barkers is now open Monday to Saturday 8:30 am till last dog gone.

Easter is upon us.
The last few weeks have again proved trying with the rain.
Many of our four legged friends are going to need a freshen up before the Easter Break and its always a busy time for Grooming Salons.

I have noticed even with my own dogs that the dreaded knots are starting to appear especially around feet from the constant being wet whenever they need to go outside and the licking to clean them.
After rain like this we tend to see far more tick and flea issues so keep up your treatments.
