We have over 18 adorable and playful rats waiting to find their forever homes! These sweet little companions are super friendly, love cuddles, and are guaranteed to bring so much joy to your life.

Hi there! 😊💕🐾

My name is Nate, and I’m so excited to meet you! I actually have a big family—about 40 brothers and sisters—and I’d love for you to meet some of them too!

We all came into RSPCA SA’s care together after growing up on a farm. It wasn’t the easiest start to life since we didn’t have much human contact, but now we’re all getting a chance to find our forever homes. We can’t wait to learn what it’s like to have a family to love and care for us!

We might need a little time to settle in because everything is so new, but I promise we'll warm up once we feel safe and loved.

We're still figuring out how to play and interact with people, so patience and kindness would mean the world to us. If you can take things slow and give us lots of love, we'll become the happiest, most loyal companions.

This Christmas, the Petbarn aims to raise $1.3 million to help thousands of people and pets in need across Australia. The Tree of Hope Appeal will support 90 pet-related charities across Australia, including RSPCA South Australia with adoption and foster programs.

Hi I’m Lexi! 💕 I’m a young, lively girl who’s ready to make some amazing memories with my new family.

I love my toys more than anything! And adventures? Yes, please! Whether it’s a walk in the park or exploring new places, I’m all about it.

My big brown eyes will melt your heart, and my sweet face and bubbly personality will leave you smiling.

Zena, a one-year-old German Shepherd was starving when she was rescued.

She had been locked in a public toilet block for weeks.

Her six puppies were with her 😭

Meet Eric: From Abandoned to Adorable Dad! 🐣

Eric, a one-year-old bantam rooster, was found abandoned in a charity bin at Kurralta Central shopping centre. On the night of December 19th, Alex Hackworth, a bin emptier, discovered Eric hidden in a black nylon shopping bag under donated goods.

Since his rescue, Eric has made a complete turn-around and is now the proud father of four beautiful chicks! 🥰 After meeting Alma shortly after his adoption, their love blossomed, leading them to start a family together. Their story is a heart-warming testament to the power of second chances and the love that can grow when we give our furry friends the care they deserve.

We have an instinct to help baby birds when we see them, but often while we mean no harm, they can sometimes lead to unintended consequences.

Welcome to RSPCA South Australia’s official page. Please do NOT report acts of cruelty here. For any animal welfare concerns, please contact us on 1300 4 777 22 or via our website: www.rspcasa.org.au/report-cruelty. We appreciate your help in keeping our page a friendly place for all. RSPCA South Australia is our state’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity. Since our establishment in Adelaide in 1875, we have remained the leading voice for all creatures great and small across South Australia.

We work non-stop to defend the dignity of animals, while fighting to prevent animal cruelty. We are animal protectors, carers and guardians. We bring solace to the abandoned, surrendered and injured. We offer shelter, education, medical attention and love. We help animals in need find loving forever homes. And we advocate for the humane treatment of all living creatures.

Crucially, we are also the only charity empowered by State Parliament to prosecute animal cruelty and neglect. Our small team of inspectors respond to more than 4,000 reports of animal cruelty every year, investigating complaints against all kinds of animals in all kinds of situations. Our important animal welfare work is almost entirely funded by community donations. We rely almost entirely on the goodwill of our loyal supporters to continue being there for animals when they need us most.
