Don't you just love Phineas's trailer 😍?

He is our Pet of the Week meaning for a limited time, you can adopt him for just $95! How could you say no?

🐾A bit about Phineas:

He is a super chilled young doggo who loves the company of people. Whilst he is a little shy at first, once he gets comfy with you, you'll become best friends.

He is the biggest cuddle bug and just loves affection 🤗

If Phineas sounds like your future furr-mily member, send an email to [email protected]

It's true—Halloween treats aren't for everyone!

While we all love a sweet treat, chocolates can be dangerous for our pets, especially those that are artificially sweetened or contain raisins.

Make sure to keep the sweet treats out of your pup’s paws and enjoy them yourself.

To learn more about which treats you should not let your pup get a hold of, read our blog here: https://brnw.ch/21wOdQo

Hi, I'm Boof! 🐾 I’ve been patiently waiting to find my forever home for over 85 days. All my friends at RSPCA SA say I’m a good boy but I just haven’t found my perfect match yet.

I’m a bit of a goofball so I’m guaranteed to make you smile and laugh! All I want to do is spend time with you, especially if it involves lounging on the couch and having a cuddle!

Can you make my day and bring me home today? I’m ready to be your new best friend. 💙

I'm currently in foster but if you'd like to meet me please email [email protected].

No experience? No worries! We'll provide all the training you need in donation sorting, pricing, and using our POS system. In return, you'll gain new skills, join a positive and supportive community, and be part of an organisation doing good. 🤗

Celebrating International Kangaroo Day! 🦘

Today, we honour our majestic native kangaroos—Australia's national animal! 💙

Did you know that kangaroos play a vital role in our ecosystem? By dispersing seeds of native plants through their droppings, they help regenerate our beautiful flora. 🌿🌱

The most common kangaroo species in South Australia are:
🦘Western Grey Kangaroo
🦘Red Kangaroo
🦘Euro (also known as the Wallaroo)

If you see one of our bouncy friends out and about, take a moment to appreciate the incredible work they do for our country.

Feel free to share your kangaroo photos or experiences in the comments below—we'd love to see them! 📷🐾

A huge thank you to Beyond Bank Australia and their Community Reward Account customers who nominated RSPCA SA as their charity of choice.

By choosing RSPCA SA they have helped us receive a $24,713 donation from Beyond Bank Australia, supporting vulnerable animals across the state. 🙏

We love it when community and corporates come together to achieve great outcomes for nearly 6,000 animals that came into our care last financial year alone. 🐾💙💚

RSPCA QLD has launched an amazing initiative called Prevent-a-Bite, featuring a catchy children's song titled 'Wag Your Tail' that teaches kids about dog safety! 🎶👧

Through this fun sing-song, children can easily learn how to safely approach dogs using the acronym TAIL:

T - Touch them gently; the side is best.
A - Avoid touching if they are eating or at rest.
I - Imagine how they're feeling; are they happy or scared?
L - Love them with respect and show them that you care.

Dogs communicate mainly through body language, which can be tricky for children to interpret. That's why dog safety starts at home. By teaching our kids about understanding dogs, we can create safer and happier homes for everyone. 🏡

Let's work together to make every interaction between kids and dogs a positive one!🥰🐾

We've got some fantastic news to share! Bravecto Australia is now the official National Health Partner of RSPCA Australia! 🎉🐾

With over 87,000 animals coming through RSPCA shelters each year, this partnership is essential in keeping our furry friends protected from fleas, ticks, and other pesky parasites. 🐶🐱

A huge thank you to MSD Animal Health for their amazing support in providing vaccines and BRAVECTO treatments for the animals in our care.

We're so excited to work together and make a real difference in the lives of animals everywhere. Together, we'll ensure they stay happy, healthy, and full of love! 💙

Join us in celebrating this paw-some partnership! 👏

A little help goes a long way! 💙🦆

When a poor Pacific Black Duck was found struggling with a large fishhook stuck in one of its webbed feet, our amazing rescue team sprang into action.

Thanks to a timely referral from Fauna Rescue SA, our very own Inspector Sarah and Rescue Officer Soraya (pictured) were able to safely rescue the duck. It was then transported to an emergency vet clinic, where compassionate vets removed the hook and provided pain relief.

The following day, Soraya had the joy of releasing the duck back into its natural habitat. Seeing it happily glide through the water, with good mobility and no significant damage, warmed our hearts! 🤗

The end of live sheep export is in sight! 🐏

For years, Australian sheep have faced scorching heat, overcrowding, and horrific conditions during long-haul live export journeys.

Thankfully, from 1 May 2028, this will finally stop! But 2028 is still a long way off, and those profiting from this inhumane practice are already fighting to overturn the decision.

We need your help to spread the word and remind everyone that ending live sheep export is the right choice - backed by science, evidence, and the support of the community.

💚 Join our community of advocates who won't stay silent. Sign up for our Action eNews to receive important updates and learn how you can help end live sheep export sooner.

Our story

Welcome to RSPCA South Australia’s official page. Please do NOT report acts of cruelty here. For any animal welfare concerns, please contact us on 1300 4 777 22 or via our website: www.rspcasa.org.au/report-cruelty. We appreciate your help in keeping our page a friendly place for all. RSPCA South Australia is our state’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity. Since our establishment in Adelaide in 1875, we have remained the leading voice for all creatures great and small across South Australia.

We work non-stop to defend the dignity of animals, while fighting to prevent animal cruelty. We are animal protectors, carers and guardians. We bring solace to the abandoned, surrendered and injured. We offer shelter, education, medical attention and love. We help animals in need find loving forever homes. And we advocate for the humane treatment of all living creatures.

Crucially, we are also the only charity empowered by State Parliament to prosecute animal cruelty and neglect. Our small team of inspectors respond to more than 4,000 reports of animal cruelty every year, investigating complaints against all kinds of animals in all kinds of situations. To report animal cruelty, please call our 24-hour hotline on 1300 4 777 22.

Our important animal welfare work is almost entirely funded by community donations. We rely almost entirely on the goodwill of our loyal supporters to continue being there for animals when they need us most.
