No wonder it felt chilly this morning. 30kms up the road, this was happening. Winter is on its way & with the road to Falls Creek open, booking are on the increase for everyone in the area.

I tried my dogs out with Jim’s Dog Wash today. A mobile dog wash run by Phil and his wife Kristen. They came to my place, so no need to travel with my older Border Collie, who doesn’t do so well in the car anymore.
I found them to be very attentive, calm, very very nurturing and friendly towards my dogs and lastly they did a good job. I will use them again most definitely (actually I’ve rebooked for 8 weeks time).

We have a wonderful groomer Marsie Hurren here in Mt Beauty but I feel my old boy is a little much for Marsie these days. He needs a ramp to get into the bath and help to get onto the table (hydraulic lifting table at JDW)
It is wonderful to have a choice now.

Vaccinate your dogs against Parvo.

‼️PARVO IN ALBURY-WODONGA‼️

Importance notice:
⚠️ Our neighbours over in Wagga are reporting an outbreak of Parvo, and we have also seen an increase in cases.

PLEASE make sure your dogs are up to date with parvo vaccinations, and PLEASE don't take your puppies into risky environments until they are fully vaccinated.

Parvo is a horrible disease, and getting a positive test result sends shivers down any vet or vet nurses spine. It is an INTENSIVE and EXPENSIVE disease to treat, with no promises of a good outcome.

Symptoms to look out for include: inappetance, not wanting to drink, lethargy and weakness, weight loss, developing into vomiting and severe, bloody diarrhoea which causes severe dehydration and can result in death.

We say it a lot, but prevention is key ❤️

Any one with older dogs or horses, I highly recommend Rob's Veterinary. I took my 13yr old Border Collie to him in Dec ‘22, he is a different dog (in a good amazing way) in Feb ‘23. I’m looking forward to Rob seeing my senior horse on his next visit to the Kiewa Valley.

Winter is well and truly coming and lots of people are booking their snow trip!
If you are bringing your pooch on holidays with you please remember that dogs are not allowed in The Alpine National Parks. Which means Falls Creek, Mt Hotham, & Mt Buffalo won’t allow dogs (not even if you think they will be okay in your car whilst you ski all day) and the fines are very hefty. Booking Pet Friendly accommodation off mountain will help, and you may want to book your dog some day care whilst you hit the slopes ⛷
Day Care dates are filling up so book soon to avoid disappointment.
