Adopt a Kitten this Weekend

Come to the Chippo, the most pro animal pub in Sydney, visit and best of all, adopt one of the many kittens (yes even at this time of year) that we will be bringing. Prefer the mature choice, then we will have a couple of cats with us too.

Not forgetting the Chippo Happy Hour at 4pm so you make a great day out of it. Plus the kitchen is open all day with many great options for snacks or meals.

Thank you to the Activities Organisers Alex at Rozelle , Alex at Artarmon, Kerri at Rydalmere and Desi at Gladesville for their generosity in proving raffle prices for our stalls at their stores over the weekend as well as some valuable cat food etc.
Also massive thanks to all the volunteers who came along to fly the WLPA flag and apart from raising funds, found a loving home for Smithy, brother to Kingsford who friendly kittens dumped at Sydney airport last month.

Festivals and Wills

Once again WLPA is excited to have been invited to have a stall at the Sydney Cat Lovers Festival. After its great successes last year, the organisers were keen to return to the Sydney Showground for the last weekend of August this year. The venue is well served by public transport and parking facilities are also there. WLPA has been invited by four Bunnings stores to take part in their Stores for Paws weekend. These are the times and locations we will be in store :

Only Chance to Adopt Kittens in Glebe this August

Saturday 3rd August 10-2
34 Glebe Point Rd (next to their famous market at the local school)

Kittens like Kingsford & Smithy brothers so named as they were recently dumped at the airport, will be there adoption ready. Accompanying them are volunteers and carers who know them well and can let you know most of their secrets. Also a couple of cats will be there too.

The next weekend there will be adoption events in Roselle, Artarmon and Rydalmere at Bunning’s Stores. Then Sunday 18th August sees us back at the marvelous and welcoming Chippo Hotel. With the end of August, seeing WLPA at the exciting Cat Lovers Festival, in the Sydney Showground.

Fantastic Kittens for You

This Saturday we will have stunning kittens in Glebe next to the Markets from 10am – 2pm at 34 Glebe Point Rd

Thanks to the all the wonderful staff and Bhavani at the Chippo Hotel + WLPA volunteers Annabel, Anita, Leone, Ace and May May, we were able to find lovely families for two kittens yesterday. Sunday was our first rabbits in the pub event but sadly none of them found homes, so please everyone can you help WLAP to help them and see if you know anyone, who would like to share their life with a rabbit or two.

Last Orders for Kitten Adoptions at the Pub

Kitten season is petering out so after this event your choice in kittens will be more limited, until summer.

Looking for Last Minuet Cat Boarding this School Holiday?

WLPA in Gladesville can help. Give us a call on 9817 4892 to discuss your needs.

As you may know WLPA have just moved to new accommodation and to help fund this we are dedicating some space for boarders. At the moment for the school holiday we have an opening special, of $30 for the first two nights then $25 per night.

We have a cat condo for one to two cats (who live together normally), as well as smaller condos for single cats in a lovely light sunny room.

Congratulations to all who have campaigned for half a century to end the live export of sheep business. Sad it will still continue until 2028 and it is even sadder that cows are still going to be undergoing these journeys, which the vast majority of Australians recognise as causing suffering and want banned. The legislation was passed in the early hours of Monday morning but only by three votes.

Although it is disappointing to see our leaders taking so long to act to stop this trade, it is a great victory for our fellow beings and we thank every individual and group, that contributed to this historic change.

WLPA has taken a stand against this trade for many decades and even up to last month was making parliamentary submissions supporting the ban.

Lots of Kittens in Glebe for Adoption

WLPA is expecting to have over a dozen kittens and cats for you to choose between on Saturday 29th June, at 10am till 2 pm. We will again be at 34 Glebe Point Rd, next to the Glebe Markets

To be shown for the first time are young Mum and her brood, as seen in this photo.

Returning are some of Claude’s beautiful in every way kittens, also to be seen in the photos accompanying this post. Like all WLPA cats and kittens, they come with a full healthcare package, to set them up for this first year of their lives.

Thanks to Mamma B / Bhavani and her amazing staff, everyone who came to the Chippo Hotel for the kitten adoption event, on Sunday enjoyed the place and really wants to come again. The most popular dish amongst the volunteers was hot chips. However in July we hope to make time for a Happy Hour drink and sit down meal which I can personally highly recommended, having already feasted there a few times.

I hope you can join us there on Abercrombie St Chippendale and will enjoy yourself as much as we did last Sunday. Stay tunes for future dates please

Kittens in the Pub

A Sydney first, a pub adoption day, for amazing kittens and one cat known to many in Abercrombie St, the beautiful black Mr Meowgi.
We will have a variety of kittens in terms of colour and ages but all with a loving joyous temperaments. They are all vet checked and have health care packages which includes desexing, vaccinating, microchipping etc. Their carers will be there to let you know all about them

The pub is having a Low Tea for anyone who wishes to buy a ticket for that, otherwise very reasonable drinks and wonderful food available all afternoon.

Come and join in the fun, and maybe find a friend and be part of this wonderful initiative generously hosted by Mama B.On Sunday 23/6 from 1pm till 4pm

An exciting new festival for all those who care about companion animals. Free entry

Miss Sina’s Kittens

Come to Miss Sina’s Café, 132 Illawarra Rd. (where it intersects with Sydenham Rd) Marrickville. Treats galore await you there in the form of Miss Sina’s cooking and WLPA kittens. Surprisingly as they are so affectionate and playful, Charlotte and brother Pippy will be making a return visit, as will part ragdolls Bella and Ginny. There will also be kittens making their first ever trip to an adoption event available too. We also have a cat or two coming along if that is of interest to you.

I’m Good in Bed

You may have noticed recently that the nights are getting a bit cooler. This is where I and my fellow felines come in useful, as we have higher temperatures than humans and so make great winter warmers, especially in bed.

As I am a large cat, I have plenty of warmth to share. In fact, some of the rude humans at WLPA, say I’m a little too large due to my love of cat biscuits. Well at least it shows. I’m easy to please and no one in their right mind would want one of those fussy eater cats

I have been at WLPA for nearly a decade and have come second more times than anyone can remember, when visitors came to adopt a cat

It would now be so lovely to be someone’s first choice. If you approach me kindly I’m friendly and affectionate
