🛑 Tick Season Alert – Protect Your Pets! 🛑

Tick season is here, and it's hitting hard. In the past 30 days, our team at Queensland Veterinary Specialists (QVS) has treated 98 pets for tick paralysis.

Due to the high volume of emergency cases, our Pet Emergency teams are experiencing longer than usual wait times. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this busy time.

✅ Is your pet up to date with their tick prevention?
Tick prevention only works if it's active before a tick bites. If your pet shows any signs of tick paralysis, they’ll need urgent hospital care—including antiserum treatment. Sadly, even with intervention, some pets don’t survive. That’s why prevention is always better than cure.

⚠️ If you suspect your pet may be affected by a paralysis tick, please contact your nearest vet immediately. Early treatment can save lives.

LIFE'S BEEN ROUGH

Business page or not - I'm honest to the core and my core runs deep.

As life does for all of us, especially the best of us - it hits hard, over and over again no matter what you do to try and avoid it.

One day your living your best life, the next you'd give anything to relive that one moment.

Working in this industry is hard - offering your heart to people and animals you don't know, only for them to become so close you'd call them friends, even family... And then one day, they're gone forever and for all different reasons. Age, illness, tragedy, you name it, I see it.

This happens often, it's inevitable but it always hurts.

On top of those losses, there are personal losses and grievances that sometimes you don't see coming but you've got to handle it, you've got bookings that you can't cancel and lives depending on you one way or another.

There's no time for injury or illness, yes the schedule is ours to make but time waits for no one and neither do the bills so what choice do we have? Getting it done, that's the choice we have, until we don't - then we must rest and reset.

So, though life has hit hard in many ways for a very long time now - I've had rest and I've reset to fight another day.

Moving on from it all, I will be taking leave in the future but dates are yet to be confirmed based on an email going out offering a final chance for bookings between now and January.

Be king to yourselves, if you need the break - all you have to do is ask and I'll make the time, that's what I do.

MEET BUDDY!

Buddy came on board to follow in the paw prints of his elderly mentor, Klinkers (R.I.P)

Buddy completed a foundation package with me which got him through many obstacles he faced during his crucial learning period.

Today, he's a brave, confident and willing young lad who gives every training session 110%!

One day he's going to make a fine young guard dog and family companion. Until then, he's just a baby dog doing baby dog things, with me by his side to help his humans develop the best Buddy they can!

Cindy was sent by a pair of angels, Whitney and Arnold.

Whitney and Arnold were dearly loved by their humans and myself alike, I miss them very much.

Cindy has come to keep their humans spirits high and she's doing a great job at it! Bless her cotton socks! 🤭
