Lots of daily exercise, forced rest breaks and changed from a kibble and people food diet to raw only diet.

CHACE Working on our "wait" command before crossing the road. Chace is a dog who struggles to walk on a loose leash and also keep his head up while walking (he's a hound, it's expected), none the less, it's a necessary exercise and especially for long line etiquette. WILLA & CHACE Reinstating long line boundaries with Willa and Chace in a high distraction environment (for them, as hounds, the bush is life!) Though we are doing training here, it doesn't appear that way, and that's the idea. I want them to have free roam, just be dogs and feel they have control of the situation but when it's time to move on or come back to me, the long line ensures I can follow through with a light tug if they don't follow their commands. Allowing them to sniff as much as they want while doing this exercise also guarantees they go home well rested and unlikely to be nagging their owner for a walk after her 14 hour day! #germanshorthairedpointer #gsp #hound

Once upon a time, not so long ago.. these two dominant personalities didn't like each other but given time, exposure and having learnt some boundaries, we now have a very harmonious relationship which will now get stronger. Myles the staffy has come a long way, the dog I met was labelled 'dog aggressive'... what the shelter failed to mention is that they didn't give him the right opportunity to prove he isn't and his owner knew it from the day she met him, and she hasn't given up on him since, and that makes me so happy! Vendetta is exceptionally social for a neapolitan mastiff, with both people and dogs, that hasn't happened overnight. That has been life long exposure to all breeds, all energy levels, a lack of manners from both herself and others and having to learn through consequence, and a lot of guidance by me along the way. You can't change who they are, but you can manage it, you can teach them it is okay to say they are unhappy about something without a full blown meltdown or fit of rage, learning is all part of the journey whether they know it or not but by managing them, you can improve their quality of life 10 fold and Myles proves it to me every single day, and he is why i don't let anyone tell me different, because we've been there and done it! Myles isn't my first rehab dog, but he certainly has made it to the top of my list for effort and gains, he is a champion by nature 💕 he has his moments where he can be a bit of a loose canon but realistically, he is so good! #proud #gooddoggo #learning #training #love #trust
