Meet Louis and Willow, the adorable brother and sister Havanese puppies who are inseparable. Willow is quite chilled until Louis decides to sit on top of her on the consult table, then it’s game on! The first three photos were taken at their first puppy vaccination and health check in December and the last three photos at their final puppy vaccination in January. Can’t wait to see these two bundles of fluff as they grow up!

Wishing all our wonderful clients and pets a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and healthy New Year. This is a friendly reminder that we are shut from 5pm on Christmas Eve and will reopen on Monday 29th December so don’t forget to phone the clinic for your med repeats to be collected prior to Christmas. Wishing everyone a happy festive season, from all the team at CCVH.

Meet Onyx and Twix, two adorable male Netherland Dwarf rabbits who were in for their yearly Filavac vaccination which provides a full year of protection against both RHDV 1 and RHDV 2 strains (rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus also known as calicivirus). RHDV is spread through direct contact with infected rabbits or indirect contact with contaminated hay, cages, clothing or equipment. It can also be spread by insect vectors such as mosquitoes and flies and by other animals that come into contact with infected rabbits or their carcasses.

It seems that Stanley, the 2 and a half yo Shar Pei x Staffy didn’t get the memo about not eating the Halloween treats. In the hour that his owner had popped out, he helped himself to 12 twirls, 12 caramello koalas, 15 mentos and 3 lolly pops… He was feeling very sorry for himself after he was rushed to the clinic this afternoon to induce vomiting…It also meant his family didn’t have any sweets to hand out to trick or treaters as they definitely weren’t going to buy more and risk sneaky Stanley having a second helping! 🤢 🎃 😱

Happy Halloween. It’s a timely reminder to keep all the trick or treat chocolates and sweets away from your furry friends. And be mindful of your spooky decorations such as fake cobwebs that your pets might view as tempting chew toys! 🎃 🕸️ 👻

Meet Crumpet, the gorgeous 8mo Exotic Short Hair cat who was in this week for desexing. She was such a sweetie and enjoyed lots of cuddles whilst she was with us for the day.

Happy 14th birthday to this beautiful old lady, Elly the Pug. In her prime, she was a TV star featuring in some ad campaigns. Now she just spends her days relaxing and getting spoilt. Elly came in for her vaccination today and was given a clean bill of health by Dr Leanne. Apart from her jab (which she didn’t even notice), Elly received lots of cuddles and some soft puppy SPD treats to take home (as she doesn’t have too many teeth left!) Hope you were spoilt for the rest of your day Elly.

Happy International Vet Nurse Day to our incredible nursing team at Casey and Cranbourne Vet Hospital. Each and every day you all do an amazing job caring for all creatures great and small. All the vets at CCVH couldn’t do their job without you. Also, today is the perfect day to acknowledge and thank our nursing team for their tireless dedication to the care of wildlife that are brought into the clinic, and we have certainly had a fascinating array of wildlife recently. From the time and effort taken in caring for and feeding a trio of baby ringtail possums (including taking turns to take them home for round the clock feeding to ensure we got them up to the weight they would be accepted by Wildlife Victoria), to feeding a fledgling magpie (who decided to spray most of its food around the cage) to caring for an injured water dragon and arranging for him to be collected by Reptile Victoria. Today is a day to celebrate you all and to thank you for your tireless dedication to help all animals in need, whether they be owned pets or wildlife brought in for treatment. You are all superstars!

Once again, we had the Insight Mobile Vet Diagnostic CT truck at Casey and Cranbourne Vet Hospital. They came within two days of requesting an urgent CT scan. In certain situations, a diagnosis can only be achieved with a CT scan and having the mobile vet CT truck come to CCVH, allows us to then provide appropriate urgent medical or surgical treatment. As long as a patient fits in the blow up ring (as modelled by Buddy the gorgeous Bull Terrier), they can fit in the mobile CT machine.

What better way to celebrate International Dog Day than with our latest Puppy Preschool graduates. In order we have Kneesa the amazing Australian Cobber Dog, Yuki the cool Cavoodle, Ebony the marvellous Moodle, Gracie the stunning Shetland Sheepdog, Max the laughing Labrador and Mack the gorgeous Golden Retriever x Labrador. We hope every one of these pups and all our canine patients have had a wonderful International Dog Day and have been spoilt rotten. PS we couldn’t resist the adorable photo of Mack in the sandpit at the end of PPS, very content and not bothered about the graduation hat at all!
