Today was a day I could see all the hard work I’ve put in pay off.
The consistency, repetition, patience and love ~ it’s all starting to really show 💛
I drove my car to the mechanic, then we loose lead walked from their to my grandmas place and back home. She worked for her breakfast along the way ✔️
She then spent a few hours alone while I went to the beach and went to work 🌊
Then I rode my bike to the mechanic while cedar ran next to me on lead 🚲
At the mechanic while we waited, she relaxed and lay on the floor 🛠️
She waited beautifully, tethered while I ran over to get my car so I could load up the bike.
Then drove home crated in the car. Then some more time alone while I went surfing 🏄🏽♀️
Then rode back down to the beach on the bike with her, and waited at the top of the sandune while I tried to get my mums attention. She just automatically went into a down and relaxed while I was waiting🧍♀️🐕
We then rode home, she had a chew on her goat horn - had some raw food from a licki mat and now I’m lying on the grass writing this and she’s laying next to me whilst watching flies 🪰
Training your dog gives them the skillset to be included in more of your life. Today a lot of the skills we have been practicing for months really showed. I’m beyond proud of this sweet little soul, the least I could ever do for her, was to educate her.
Teaching your dog the skill of switching off and relaxing is vastly over looked, but so incredibly important.
Of course cedar still has her quirks and flaws and we will always be working on those things because neither of us are perfect and that’s ok!
