Growth plate closure is such an important consideration when we are working our young dogs. This is a guide only, in my personal experience some growth plates can remain active until the dog is 2yrs old. Torque or twisting can cause damage to the growth plates. Find the distal radial epiphysis (wrist) this can remain active until 17 months or more ! Think about the concussive force this joint receives when the dog takes off and lands. Take care out there 😉

We had another awesome unexpected adventure thanks to .jenny 🥰
Client turned friend Jenny moved to Port Augusta to work as a Dr for the Royal Flying Docter Service. We caught up with Jenny for breakfast and a dog walk when she asked if we would be interested in a tour of the planes and facilities? It was a resounding yes!
Wow the RFDS deliver much needed medical support to a huge area! Such a fantastic team 👏

It really was a big day at the 2024 BIG DAY OUT FOR DOGS 🐾🐕🐩

Sunday saw the launch of our first official balanced animals stall, as well as the launch of 2 brand new products.

‘No Swell’ (a brand new natural anti inflammatory gel) and ‘Slick Dog’ (an all natural h**p oil), were raging successes on the day of their launch, and will soon be available on our website!

This is fascinating. Thanks to Becks Nairn for doing the work.
I had a conversation with someone last week who was of the opinion that hormonal behaviour in mares did not exist. Having treated many mares who display a particular type of soreness in their lumbar-sacral area, which I believe is a direct result of hormonal pain, I had to disagree.
