Rosies turn!!!!

It was our stable companion ponies turn to stretch her legs today at the National Pony Racing Series Trial held at Oakbank Racing Club.

Wearing the Arrowfield colours Rosie was given a lovely soft trial by Maddi Cox over 400m, it was all about steering and going steady today and Maddi reported that there was a lot left under the bonnet. We are looking forward to seeing Maddi and Rosie Adelaide Cup Day!

Just Like Lisa and Maggie Collett salute at the stables 100th runner bringing the total of wins to 20. Lisa jumped cleanly from the gates and was brought back to midfield with cover. She’s a strong mare so it took some strength from Maggie to be able to hold her in a nice position. Lisa made her move from the 600m mark and put herself right into contention moving 4 wide and joining in with the leading division before chasing down the leader gamely to win comfortably by a length.
We are super proud of this mare she’s the definition of strength and courage.

Just Like Lisa was a $4250 purchase from the Online Sale. She is now 2 from 2 for the stable already earning 40k from her two starts 🥇🥇

The win also boosted the stables metropolitan winning strike rate to 50%

💁‍♀️What an incredible day for these two ladies 💯 Just Like Lisa winning the Gawler Races Goes Pink 6th Jan Handicap (1200 METRES) it was a tough gutsy win. Maggie Collett was nice and positive from the barrier lobbing one out one back before making her move early to join the leaders at the top of the straight. Lisa had to dig deep to fight off a challenger and under hard riding from Maggie she managed to get her head down when it counted. The biggest congratulations goes to apprentice Maggie Collett who finished the day with a treble. Thank you to all our supporters once again 💙💚

Just like Lisa winning the Joyce Ross Memorial Handicap over 1050m having the pattern of racing against her dulled our confidence but Lisa and Fawkey were positive from the get go finding a nice position just behind the leading trio. On straightening Lisa showed a lovely turn off foot and sustained a strong run to the line 💪🏾 purchased for $4500 Lisa has already paid her way this prep 💵

Pre training and spelling positions vacant 🏇🌱🌾

We offer consistent use of the Gifford Hill track. Using all tracks including grass, fibre and uphill sand track as well as our home facilities which include 30x70 arena, 6 horse walker and newly built round yard.

Spelling paddocks are flourishing with plenty of grass available with cropped pasture mix of oats, rye and clover. We also hard feed and rug accordingly to the season.

Another good year for the team done and dusted. We finished the season on a 27.3% winning strike rate and plenty of new owners enjoyed immediate success with their horses on the track. We’d like to thank everyone who supports us whether you’re an owner or someone who just likes to follow the stable, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️

What a thrill it was to win the Clinical Labs 2yo Maiden Plate (1050m) at Morphettville Racecourse with Free Beer.

It was a successful day for Darley stallion Astern who sired 3 winners in Australia on Saturday inc Free Beer and also one overseas in Singapore.

Free Beer was ridden to victory by Jacob Opperman which gave connections including some first time owners one of the biggest thrills on a racetrack.
