The Pawsome Puppies Story

Back in 2013, James (Founder/Dog Behaviourist) had the pleasure of welcoming a 6 month old rescue dog, Hugo, into his life. Hugo started displaying a multitude of behavioural problems causing stress to both Hugo, and James. After trying to get a solution through several different trainers, with no success, James was on the verge of giving up hope when he came across a dog behaviourist who was able to accurately assess the cause of Hugo’s problems and crate a plan that paved the way for James to work with Hugo to correct his behaviour and become the best version of himself that he could be.

This experience inspired James to undertake his own dog training qualifications, so that he could help other people who may be experiencing the same desperation for help with their dog, which he had felt with Hugo. In 2014 James completed his degree in dog psychology and dog neurology, studying with some of the dog training leaders of the world. James is certified in Australia and around the world with dog trainers federations, and continues to expand his knowledge and skills through constant hands on training.

In 2019, James met Alicia who also shared his love for animals, especially dogs. She watched James as he trained and cared for not only Hugo, but foster dogs that were in his care. Alicia had also been struggling with her dog, who suffered severe separation anxiety and she had hired several trainers to try and help, but found the problem was getting worse. Through James’ guidance, Alicia has learnt why her dog reacted this way and why what she was told would help, was triggering more unwanted behaviours.

In June 2020, James relocated up to Queensland with Alicia where they joined forces to expand Pawsome Puppies services. Now, Pawsome Puppies is operating 7 days a week across the Sunshne Coast, Bribie Island, Moreton Bay region and out to Somerset Dam. James and Alicia work together to provide a wide range of services and training and will always share an endless passion for animals that reflects through their work.
