It is with much sadness that yesterday my little boy crossed over the rainbow bridge to see all his paw pals. Hansel was born on the 2nd May 2010 & left for his new life on the 26th June 2024…he had a wonderful life & saw many changes in his 14 years.
Will miss him tremendously but no longer struggling for breathe with that terrible cough…fly high my little mate 🐾🐾❤️🌈

Hi everyone, haven’t posted anything for a very long time. At present Rebekahs Respite is closed. I have now moved closer to the Nowra area & may run the business again but for now just settling into our new home & area.

ALERT to Dog Owners: Leptospirosis in our area

We have had a number of recent confirmed and suspected cases of leptospirosis in dogs presenting to our clinics.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection which can cause severe kidney and liver disease, and can be fatal, although many cases can be saved with prompt and appropriate veterinary treatment. Sometimes this can require referral to a specialist centre for 24 hour monitoring and treatment.
Leptospirosis Information
Signs of Leptospirosis can include:
Generalised lethargy/depression
Fever

Rapid and progressive kidney disease, causing increased thirst and urination, progressing to vomiting and loss of appetite

Jaundice (yellow discolouration of gums/eyes/skin)

Bella may be deaf, nearly blind & have a heart murmur but their ain’t nothing wrong with her scent or her tastebuds. She is very good on the food too even though she only has one tooth in her head. At 15 1/2 years she is a trooper who keeps up with the young ones 🐾🐾 one of these food puzzles keeps fur babies minds stimulated. 😊
