Hello Friends,
It’s Tate here, I would like to share an idea with you. I often visit Hamilton TAFE, to the hospitality Cafe. It is open Monday-Friday (not school holidays) from 11.30am.
The meals there consist of a selection of what the students cook (curries, roast beef,rissoles).
I often take my clients there as you can get a full meal for $8, as well as that it provides the students with great training.
(They don’t take cash, only eftpos)

Good Morning Friends,
Just a catch up on what we have been up to.
Keith has been enjoying his retired life, hanging out at home with his family often going on drives with his mum.
Tate has been busy at work and went to his first work Christmas party on the weekend. Today Tate is at work with my dad & we are going bowling with my clients.
Another thing that has happened is guide dogs has opened a new office in Newcastle.

There is 35 days left until Christmas 🎅

Happy Saturday!
Another handy hint my dad uses is a companion card.
[A Companion Card is for people with significant and permanent disabilities who need a carer to participate in community-based activities and attend venues. It allows the cardholder's companion to receive a second ticket at no charge. The card is issued in the name of the person with a disability and is valid for 5 years.]
Please like and share this to get the word out on this fantastic Government Initiative for Venues.
(Not all venues accept Companion Cards)

Good morning,
Don't forget next month has International Disability Day on the 3rd of December.
Unfortunately, I don't particularly like this day as we should be included everywhere.
We shouldn't have to have a specific day for people with disabilities there should be more education at schools and work organisations, there should be training around all disabilities including the ones you can't see.

Happy Saturday!
Hey Maitland have you ever been to Walka Water Works ?
It is the hidden secret of Maitland. Lots of nice walks, public toilets and great place for a picnic.
There are lots of wildlife, especially short neck turtles which are close to being endangered.


Walka Water Works was the first water purifying treatment plant.

Hello Friends,

It has been a busy couple of weeks after campaigning for the last council election with the greens!
We were so close but unfortunately we didn’t make it. Like I said, we had nothing to lose.
It brings awareness to the whole community that people with disabilities can do anything they put their mind to with the right support.

This week I have been quite busy, I have been working at my job with my dad. We have been to Pelican Rsl Club for lunch.
In december I am going back to my puppy raiser for a holiday, Ian in very supportive and does a great job for guide dogs puppy raising.
If it wasn’t for the puppy raisers there would be no guide dogs of pets in therapy.

Don’t forget tomorrow is halloween, I won’t get chocolate but I might get my favourite treat which is a carrot!

Hello friends and family, yes i am still around.
I don’t get out as much as I use to but i still get out.

Last wednesday i went to PETQuarters.
The staff at pet quarters are really supportive, I visited there and had a pamper day.
I also have a weekly outing at Bunnings Warehouse Australia in Maitland on sundays. The girls there make a great puppachino for me, shout out to the girls in the coffee shop.

Next month I am going to Sydney to stay at my puppy raiser, Sharon and Johno.
I am staying down there for 2 weeks.

I am very needy now and like lots of attention!!
I hope everyone has a lovely week & don’t forget it’s halloween tomorrow night.

hello Maitland post votes close today at 6 o’clock next Monday and Tuesday preference will be allocated. Hopefully I’ll get lots of preference and I’m still in for a good chance. Please say your prayers and cross your fingers.

Good Morning Maitland, hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday. This is the current count for for Ward 2.
Greens - P.Johns: 1706 (group A)
Ind - M.Griffin: 2055 (group B)
ALP: 4127 (group C)
Ind - Penfold: 3529 (group D)
I am waiting for them to distribute the preference from labour, which no know knows yet. Which hopefully will pull me over the line, but it is very had to defeat an active councillor.
Please cross your fingers and toes, say your prays for me and Tate.
