Is your walk more of a tug-of-war? Leash pulling can be frustrating, but with a little patience and training, you can enjoy relaxed walks with your pup! 🦮The “Stop & Go” Technique:1. Start with loose leash - This technique works best if the leash already has some slack.2. The pull stops the walk - The moment your dog pulls, stop walking completely (like a statue!). Wait for them to turn and face you with slack on the leash.3. Reward the good behavior - When your dog offers slack, praise them verbally and/or offer a small treat. Then, resume walking.4. Repeat, repeat, repeat! This method requires consistent practice. Be patient and keep repeating the steps until your dog understands pulling stops the fun.Change Direction: When your dog starts to pull, you can also try calmly turning and walking in the opposite direction. Do they eat the whole bone? No, absolutely not. They mostly just play and carry them around the first couple of times, but it’s a completely new experience and they need time to figure It out.We give them bigger bones to start with as this teaches them to chew, not swallow whole. They usually only manage to chew the wing tip to start with, bit giving the wing tip without it being connected to anything places them at higher risk of swallowing it and potentially choking. We like to see them work at it and chew it into little pieces. We predominantly feed cartilage as it’s softer and doesn’t damage teeth.
