Maude's 15th Birthday
Maude celebrated her special day just the way she wanted—being handfed chicken and making sure that, perma-squishy Munchkin, enjoyed some crumbs too! 🐾🍗
She sends a big thank you to everyone who helped her celebrate her 15th birthday by donating in her honor. Thanks to your generosity, we raised an amazing $1045, which has gone towards covering last week's large vet bills. Your support, no matter the size, doesn't go unnoticed and we are grateful that it allows us to give our perma-squishies the lives they deserve as well as rescuing and rehoming others in need.
Happy Birthday, Maude! 🎂🍰

Bubbles Update
Bubbles is spending this cold evening by staying snuggled up in his foster home with his heat pad. Yesterday he went to visit Dr Jamie to make sure that we were doing everything we could to help him heal as quickly as possible.
Bubbles has definitely made progress since arriving last week, but our little guy still has a bit of a temperature and still has a terrible case of the sniffles despite being on antibiotics since his emergency visit last week. So he's now started on another kind to hopefully help him get over it a little bit quicker!
So far hes not a huge fan of solid food but is readily drinking the formula his foster mum offers him ❤️ Everyday gets him a little bit stronger and helps him learn that humans are good things who bring food and love.
Bubbles Update!
Firstly, we would like to sincerely thank all those who donated towards Bubbles’ care. We are so grateful that so many of you cared enough to contribute to help us provide the care he needed. Early this morning, Bubbles was discharged from hospital and went home with the wonderful lady who saved him to begin his long recovery.
Sadly, in addition to having a severe respiratory infection, Bubbles is FIV positive, which is of course exacerbating his symptoms and makes his condition potentially life threatening. Despite this, we are committed to doing everything in our power to help Bubbles through this and our hope is that if he can beat the flu with FIV, he can go on to live a relatively normal life with the disease.
There’s still a chance Mr Bubbles will need to be readmitted to hospital, as he’s not eating or drinking yet, but for now he's snoozing on a snuggle safe and probably spent the first night of his life in a warm, safe environment, thanks to our amazing Squishy Village ❤️
🚨🚨URGENT HELP NEEDED! RESCUE IN PROGRESS!🚨🚨
This morning one of our volunteers found this poor little cat in an industrial estate barely clinging to life. He is emaciated and unable to stand and covered in his own waste. 🥺 He has at the very least a severe case of flu, but we suspect there could be even more going on. He was soaking in his own urine and faeces, so he had a quick warm bath at HQ before heading to Melbourne Animal Specialist Hospital. He’s currently being admitted and of course at an emergency on a public holiday, this isn’t cheap ☹
We have just paid a $550 deposit for him to be admitted and placed on a drip and his total bill will likely be 3-4 times that. We know money is tight, but if anyone would be willing to contribute to this little guy, (who we’ve named Bubbles due to the bath stop🧼🛁) , it would be very appreciated!
He has no microchip so had we not taken responsibility for him, his future would have been very bleak and there’s a good chance he wouldn’t have made it though the day. We can’t afford this when we have other animals arriving and still fundraising for animals who are already in our care, but we also can’t say no to an animal in need, could you?

2 DAYS UNTIL CROISSANT & BAGUETTE’S BOAS SURGERY!
Baguette wanted you to see part of his morning routine so he asked if tonight’s post could be a video.
The last aspect of the 5 BOAS surgery are the laryngeal sacs. The laryngeal saccules are small sacs or pouches that are located just inside the larynx and pressure from heavy breathing can suck these into an obstructive position. Definitely a case of better out than in for our brachy friends!
We have currently raised $4915 of the $6000 we need for Croissant and Baguette’s surgeries. If you can help with even $5 we would be so appreciative as we only have $1085 left to raise. Donations can be made in the following ways:

You might remember us introducing this round Coconut earlier in the year. She arrived in care with her much more outgoing Pirate Persian friend, Chewy. While Chewy was happy to be friends with all, Coconut has lived a very sheltered life and found that being in a new place was very overwhelming.
She’s spent some time at Squishies HQ gaining confidence (and a little bit of weight, but don’t tell her) before moving to a very kind foster home who have continued to show her patience and love. She is slowly coming out of her shell -pun intended- and has been enjoying morning coffee dates, karaoke and many brushing sessions.
We are grateful to our foster families who are willing to take in those animals that need a little more time, care and rehab. It means a lot to us but also makes a huge difference in the animal’s life!
