There is an ‘Adventure Dog’ in every litter. One who isn’t afraid to go off on their own, follow their curiosity, and set their own agenda. However, this little man takes the cake. Within an hour of being born, still deaf and blind, he managed to climb out of the nest, crawl across the lamb paddock, go through an electric fence and was within a metre of disappearing into dense blackberry in the neighbours paddock, before he was almost overcome by the cold and the effort of his exertions. Then he managed to make just enough of a tiny whimper, that we found him, warmed him up, and returned him to his mum. He is an amazing young dog and is already joining his parents in protecting their lambs from foxes, possums, shadows, and the occasional moth. He is also in need of a farm of his own, where he can have his own stock and hone his craft. Oh yes, fierce guardian; you'll see it says that on my resume in several places. I like to emphasise that. Otherwise, it's just snuggling, and playing and filling my face with delicious food. This job is great, but I'm ready for bigger challenges. When can I start?

It wasn’t what we planned… but two days after posing for the gorgeous shot with her lambs, Miss Tilly surprised us with some other babies! So if you’re looking for a puppy, I know where there are a few. Three girls, six boys, delivered all by herself when we weren’t looking.

… and then there was one!
With his brother settling in to his new home, young Charlie here finds himself in the unenviable position of lucky last to find his place in the world. With two false starts, he’s beginning to think he may never have his own sheep or chickens to defend!

Young William made the big move to his forever home on the weekend. He’s gone to a lovely farm with two other Maremmas to show him the ropes. I love it when they go to experienced Maremmas homes. Makes me happy 🙂

These two gorgeous boys were due to fly out to their new home in Queensland next week, but sadly their new family has suffered a life altering event which will leave them unable to provide the care and guidance these young ones will require. So, that means they are looking for new forever homes. They are gorgeous cuddly boys who were being trained up to guard poultry, but have also been around sheep, goats and people. They are both showing great instincts and are also very sweet natured, very much like their dad, John. If you think one or both of them might belong at your place, send us a message.

This little man, now known as Roy, had a big adventure today, with a drive to the airport, and a flight to Melbourne to be collected by his new family. It’s bitter sweet, sending them off… having to let them go so that they can flourish elsewhere. The good news is he arrived safe and well at the other end!!!

Almost six years ago this precious baby came into my care and stole my heart.
