🌟 When it comes to communicating with your dog, have you ever thought about it like this? 🌟
We’re teaching them a whole new language—and in such a short time! 🐕✨ Once you understand this, training can flow so much better. Simply saying something to your dog and expecting them to just get it is unfair. Instead, show them your expectations and use markers to guide them.
At Alpha Lykos, we teach multiple markers to clearly communicate:
✅ Positive markers to tell your dog they’re doing great.
❌ Negative markers to help them understand what’s wrong.
🔄 Encouragement markers to let them know they’re close and to try again.
➕️ Duration Marker to tell them they are doing the right thing and we want them to continue
This allows your dog to think, adjust, and keep learning! When you build this foundation of trust and understanding, the results are incredible. It's not just about training—it's about a two-way street of communication and respect.

Join us for a relaxing and structured walk, perfect for working on leash manners and practicing focus in a social setting.
📝 Cost: $5 casual fee (covers the cost of our walk together)

🐾 Wednesday: Beginners & Level 1 Classes
• Beginners (8-week program): For dogs just starting out. Learn the fundamentals of obedience and basic commands in a structured environment.

📝 Cost: $330 per 8-week program
💸 Payment Options:

Distractions can be so tough, especially with a young pup like Harlo! 🐶 Before a recent appointment, we practiced some basic obedience and duration training to get his focus on point. With lots of trucks and cars passing by, I wanted to make sure he was dialed in and ready to be on his best behavior.

Working on those fundamentals, even in the midst of distractions, is so important. Proud of little Harlo for staying engaged and calm - he's really coming along!

🌟 Exciting Announcement! 🌟

We are thrilled to share that our dream project with Alpha Lykos is moving forward, and we’re close to getting council approval! This facility will be a game-changer for dog owners in Far North Queensland and assistance dogs across Australia! 🐶❤️

We’re building a boarding, training, daycare, and nutrition facility in Mareeba—the FIRST air-conditioned facility in the area. This means we can hold more classes and bring in guest trainers for special events!

We need your support: if you see the value in this facility and live in the Mareeba Shire, please submit letters to the council in support. Submissions will be available starting tomorrow, and I’ll post the link!

We train psychiatric assistance dogs for M&M Companion Retrievers, helping clients change their lives with these amazing dogs. Our program provides access to clients who wouldn’t typically be able to get assistance dogs. This facility will also allow us to offer already trained assistance dogs for those who cannot train from puppyhood.
