🌟 EXERCISE & LEASH SKILLS SESSIONS 🌟

Meet Henry 🐶

Henry struggles with nervous reactivity towards dogs and people. Today marks his very first Exercise & Leash Skills session with me — and he's already making strides!

This personalized service allows us to work 1-on-1 with dogs like Henry, creating a fast track to better understanding, confidence, and leash manners. By giving them the focused time they need, we help set both the dog and the owner up for greater success and efficiency on their training journey.

Henry will be attending these sessions weekly until he’s ready to walk calmly and confidently alongside the HH pack. From there, he’ll graduate to our pack walks, joining other experienced exercise and leash skills client dogs.

This isn’t just about the walk — it’s about transforming anxious energy into calm confidence.

RELATIONSHIP IS NO.1

A strong, trusting relationship with your dog is the foundation for lasting behavioural change. One of the most effective ways to build this bond is through consistent fulfillment—meeting your dog’s physical, mental, and emotional needs every day.

Why is this so crucial?
🔑 Consistency teaches your dog that their needs will always be met by you, building trust.
🧠 Mental stimulation/ fulfilment keeps your dog engaged and helps prevent problem behaviours and decrease one's that are undesirable.
💪 Physical exercise releases excess ener, reduces anxiety & serves for a happy state of mind.
❤️ Emotional fulfilment means spending quality time together, but it’s more than just affection. It’s about fulfilling your dog’s biological needs—giving them opportunities to engage with their environment, solve problems, and exercise their instincts in healthy ways.

When your dog feels secure, understood, and biologically fulfilled, they’re more likely to respond to training anany behavioural changes you are trying to make. Building the relationship first—behavior change will follow naturally.

MINI MENTORSHIPS

Bringing together my skills as an Outdoor Educator & Dog Behaviourist; Mini Mentorships have emerged.

Held at Holistic Hounds HQ, the day will be filled with activities designed to NURTURE IN NATURE.

The infamous Holistic Hounds pack will bring the happy go lucky motivation, encouragement, and supportive vibes for the children to find their most authentic selves through activities such as:

🔸️Obstacle courses
🔹️Treasure hunts
🔸️Water activities
🔹️Dog treat creations
🔸️Team building challenges

With each activity designed to incorporate building confidence, problem solving skills, skills in dog interactions, knowledge in stewardship to the natural surrounds, self worth, independence, expressing true self, team work and much more.

POV..
So many people lack confidence to take their reactive dog into society to train it because of their fear about society projecting their opinions, causing feelings of shame and embarrassment.
Everyone has an opinion. We all know we can only control our own reactions/actions/thoughts when someone voices their opinion. ..
Here's some tips to help you through the fears of other people projecting...
1. Create space (even more than you may need). This will take the pressure off you & your dog to perform so rapidly.
2. No matter what your dog is doing on the end of the lead, where it's safe to do so, breathe deeply, in & out, long exhales, at least 10 times.
3. - catch those negative, spiralling thoughts and repeat to yourself something that is going to give you courage. Such as "I'm doing the best I can."
4. Smile big (even if u dont feel like it) loosen your body, even give your arms n legs a shake or two, this will help regulate your nervous system...
REMEMBER: No one else knows your journey & I can guarantee no one knows what you know about your dog & and its needs in each moment.
