FURTASTIC Grooming Show, Ravenhall. 💥

Im thrilled I placed 3rd Gundog (English Cocker spaniel) , Intermediate Class ⭐️ (judges Janelle Austin (Gundog specialist AUS and Emma Case NZ) in a highly competitive class.

I threw my hat in the ring and entered with beautiful Doug who has become my dog to learn and improve on with thanks to him and his gorgeous mum Brooke.

What a rewarding show, even more so to get support from my fellow competitors who all turned around and congratulated me before judging.

I still have a huge learning curve with Doug but I’m loving every minute of it ❣️

What a great competition congratulations the day was well organised and your stewards were so helpful to me on the day! Brilliant venue aswell

Wrapping up my week, I’ve worked every day to get some new kids in. and to make sure everyone has their pre Xmas groom!! Monday is my last day (Ive actually had to check my calendar to make sure it’s Sunday tomorrow 😅)

Big Day Out For Day Out For Dogs Grooming Competition

2nd Place Terrier
Runner Up In Group

What a brilliant way to end my year of learning, competing and grooming. This year I took the plunge and through myself into grooming more and took on some challenges. I’m thrilled to have entered with my beautiful clients Plato the Cairn Terrier and Doug English Cocker Spaniel.

No placing yesterday with the beautiful Doug, but boy I learnt a lot with great critiques from the Judges Nicky Renwood and Michelle Weber and can’t wait to put this into practice next. I’m so fortunate to have been in the ring with breed specialists & great exhibitors and was able to ask so many questions to further my knowledge.

GONZO came in for his first ever groom with me today. Initially mum wanted him to be clipped all over, as he is in as a first ever groom it was good place to start, so I helped her understand the benefits of handstripping is top coat. She was on board and he was amazing to groom.

Just some of the many benefits to handstripping are;

⭐️Healthy Skin in all the oils being left to do there job
⭐️Protects dog skin from dirt and debris
⭐️Coat Becomes waterproof and acts as barrier to the skin

We left legs with hand sc******ng and a mix of clipping his head and removing his undercoat.

Mum has gone home with a shopping list and guidance of what can be done at home with visits to me in between for guidance ❤️🎄

I’m thrilled to say that Doug & I placed 3rd in the Gun Dog category (handstripping) 🏆

It was the first time for me this year competing in this category. I was a little bit out of my comfort zone, to say the least.

Thank you Jo Marsden for making this happen and to the judges Cathy Wallace, Danny Tsai & Bonnie Keen and for placing me, I’m truly inspired to keep learning and receiving your feedback to improve further.

We had the best afternoon on Sunday, I had the opportunity to have Lori in the studio with me, training me in the Cocker Spaniel breed trim. I love upskilling, any opportunity to learning there! With laughs along the way, Doug was an absolute super star being my model for the day. I can’t wait to implement what I’ve learn with you and take your tips and tricks to my lovely clients.
