No "special" foods were needed to trigger these Black Cory into spawning for me. They were fed some Frenzy Fish Feeds pellets whilst in the breeding "tank/bucket" and that was it. They've had a good life this past year with all the best foods of coarse preparing them for this day.
The main trigger for these fish was temperature. At this time of year I found it perfect to set them up without a heater so the temperature sat around 20-23 fluctuating day and night. A few days of this was enough to set them off.
These Cory originate from the mountains of Peru, where temperatures can be a bit cooler. Some other Cory are similar like the Panda Cory which I'll be working with soon. My colony is still growing out at the moment I don't think they're quite ready just yet.
