🔴 We are more than happy to help you find your dream horse but if we think we can’t - we will tell you!

🦄 Let’s get real here, the ‘perfect horse’ with flawless results, even when ridden by a junior, is not for sale.
💰 If we can find it, off market, it is probably 3 x most people’s budget!
🌍 Don’t even get me started about people refusing to travel more than a few hours, to view horses… 🤦🏻‍♀️

🔴 Your budget is not the issue.
🔴 The issue is that your expectations - for what you can buy and where you can find it - may not be realistic.

In saying that, a wise man once said to me that ‘everyone wants cheap, sound AND educated but if you want cheap, you can’t have both sound and educated’…

Our advice:
⭐️ Work out your maximum budget including vet checks, transport and viewing expenses.
Unfortunately, buying the horse is the ‘cheap’ part of horse ownership.
⭐️ Research what that budget can buy you.
⭐️ Work out your needs and goals for the horse but limit yourself to a maximum of three ‘deal breakers’ - be prepared to compromise on everything else! Colour, markings, being a mare and breed are NOT deal breakers!
⭐️ Remember that no horse or human is perfect.
⭐️ Remember that it takes over 12 months for a rider and horse to form a working partnership.
⭐️ Remember that this horse probably wont be 2 hours from your house but it’s cheaper to go to WA to view the RIGHT horse, than view and vet check 15 duds that are around the corner!

Dressage is not abusive.
It’s a kind and ethical training.
Dressage is not flashy.
It’s about correct posture and spinal alignment.
Dressage is not exhausting.
It's about lightness and motivation.
Dressage is not about getting fast results.
It is quiet and humble.
Dressage is not about external validation.
It’s an art.
Dressage is not for building up your ego.
It’s a journey of self-discovery.
Dressage doesn’t wear out the joints.
It keeps your horse fit until old age.
Dressage doesn’t shut down the horse or cause anxiety.
It is about a human and a horse connecting on a deep level, from heart to heart.
When riding is abusive, flashy, exhausting, promises fast results, used to get external validation, needed to build up your ego, wears out the joints, and causes shut down or anxiety, it’s not dressage!

“Are you going to ride today?”

That is a pretty simple six word question. There are just two possible answers, yes or no.

So think this through---There are 365 days in a year, or 366 this year, and imagine being asked that question each one of those days.

I did the math---

If you answer yes 95% of the time, and you ride one horse, you will ride about 346 times in 2024.
90%----328 rides.
80%---292 rides
70%---255 rides
60%---219 rides
50%---182 rides
40%---146 rides
30%---109 rides
20%---73 rides
10%---36 rides
5%---18 rides.

If you ask almost anyone who is good at some type of physical skill, most of them will tell you that practice is one of the main ways to improve. For riders of horses, at its most basic level, that means riding.

Pretty basic, right? This is not a judgement laden discussion. There are all sorts of reasons why some can answer “yes” more readily than others. But it does point out the inescapable math, practice yes or practice no.

And to really understand this, factor in riding more than one horse, and do that math---
