Congratulations to all the participants who trialled their dogs over the weekend at the WDFA Nationals. It’s not an easy sport and takes a lot of practice, knowledge and dedication.

A special shout out to the Rottweiler for passing a TR-1 and flying the flag for the Rotties! We were all here watching with keen eyes in support of everyone.

Australia has had some of the best Rottweilers ever grace its shores.

Graf was full brother to Falko and Face v Gruntenblick (from a repeat breeding) , as well as being 3/4 brother to the most influential Rottweiler in history, Noris vom Gruntenblick.

Arko is from the Austrian military breeding program and was owned by the late Weber Thomas, owner/breeder of the legendary Turnleberg kennel.

Arko has been described to me by knowledgeable breeders in Germany who were close to Weber, as a dog with an exceptional character and very determined.

Bulli v Turnleberg is a Max v Turnleberg son and made up strongly of the old Turnleberg dogs which produced the modern generation of legendary dogs in Germany. We have a lot of experience with this line and will utilise Bulli to compliment our other Max v Turnleberg lines.

C**t v Rasmus is also made up of strong Austrian military dogs and Turnleberg dogs. His father is Rasmus v Turnleberg, known for having an extremely strong character.

An extremely strong and balanced 14 month old from the old ADRK gene pool.

Truly good dogs are born and not trained. Dogs that are genetically predisposed to good behaviour, the ability to withstand a lot of pressure, remain confident and think. Dogs that also have a high level of endurance and concentration and commitment.

Our view is that dogs were bred to serve man, not the other way around. A good breeding program should produce dogs that require less attention to their development.

A stable Rottweiler is one that is genetically predisposed for civil work and can think under pressure, because he has the ability to remain calm and secure under this type of pressure.

This is often misunderstood and overlooked in modern breeding programs and can only truly be appreciated amongst incredible examples of the working Rottweiler.

ROTTWEILER TEMPERAMENT

When evaluating a Rottweiler’s temperament, all of the character traits MUST be present in a breeding program:

1. Alertness/Suspicion
2. Steady, self assured nerves
3. Courage & Persistence (drive endurance)
4. Biddability (the willingness to obey/please)
5. Retractibility ( the ability to calm down/keep his cool/recover quickly)
6. Basic/calm in disposition (not boisterous/flashy/spirited. The Rottweiler is a no-nonsense, explosive endurance breed.

All of these character traits lend towards a balanced guardian/working dog and family member which suits suburbia, Law enforcement or stock dogs.

With the correct genetics and foundation coupled with a balanced and fair approach to training you can achieve a strong bond and harmonious relationship with your dogs.

Introducing The 4D Worldwide Rottweiler Project

A collaboration between The Worldwide Rottweiler Project and 4DK9 - Dimensional Canine Training.

The collaboration aims to achieve 3 main objectives:

1. To promote the breed in the community in all of the Rottweiler’s multifaceted capabilities;
2. To help develop responsible Rottweiler handling skills and well trained/well behaved Rottweilers in the community; and
3. To develop and control a high quality and consistent gene pool of correct Rottweiler temperament and exceptional working ability.

To achieve our objectives we have partnered up with 4DK9 to offer the following.

1. Any puppy or dog purchased through us will be sold with 1 free puppy class valued at $220; as well as 1 free Board and Train for dogs aged 6 months or older valued at $880;
2. Anyone who obtains a BH with their puppy purchased through us will receive a 25% refund of their purchase price; and
3. Anyone who achieves an IGP title or equivalent will receive a 50% refund of the purchase price of their puppy.

In addition, the collaboration is specifically seeking a team of working dog enthusiasts to work with The 4D Worldwide Rottweiler Project to handle, raise and train the next generation of working prospects.

We will supply the genetics and 4DK9 will provide the polished expertise in training and handling skills.

Above all else, we hope to create a team atmosphere of cooperation between enthusiasts, breeders and handlers to promote an enjoyable experience for both dogs and people.
