Who are we? For all our new followers

My name is Elise, and together with my husband James, we proudly run Teacup Nethies. We’re a busy family of five with three wonderful children, aged 10, 6, and 4, who keep us on our toes, alongside our cherished fur babies. My background spans extensive experience in rescues, animal care, dog grooming, and medical training, while James brings expertise in digital marketing and web development.

Teacup Nethies, as you know it today, was born from a personal need during my second pregnancy when I faced significant health challenges. After my son was born prematurely at 32 weeks, caring for my beloved rabbits became increasingly difficult. I knew that if I couldn’t find a better solution, I would have to rehome them. That’s when I discovered the concept of absorbent fleece bedding from overseas—washable, reusable, and eliminating the hassle of wood shavings while reducing allergies.

After testing Australian-made materials, I found the perfect eco-friendly and highly absorbent fabric that was both safe for animals and supported local jobs. In February 2019, we re-launched Teacup Nethies from our home on the mid-north coast, offering a revolutionary solution to pet owners seeking practical and sustainable care options.

In 2023, we introduced a new C&C cage design, which has been a hit for providing a safe grid for both baby and adult guinea pigs and rabbits, further expanding our product range. We also proudly ship internationally.

Today, our liners and cages help families avoid pet surrender and bring peace of mind to pet owners across Australia and beyond. Teacup Nethies is embraced by veterinary clinics, pet stores, parents of children with special needs, individuals with allergies, and many more. We continue to craft our fleece products from our family property, remaining dedicated to delivering exceptional care.

Our journey, born from personal challenges and a love for animals, has transformed Teacup Nethies into a multi-award-winning brand.

We have been asked why we don’t offer pre order on our cages. Here’s why we choose not to offer preorders on our cages:

1. Quality Assurance: We want to make sure every cage that leaves our hands has been thoroughly inspected and meets our rigorous standards. By not taking preorders, we avoid rushing production and ensure that each cage is crafted to perfection.

2. Reliable Availability: We believe in only offering products that are ready to ship. This means no waiting, no delays—when you order a cage, you can trust that it’s in stock and will be on its way to you quickly.

3. Customer Experience: We want your experience with us to be smooth and stress-free. Preorders can sometimes lead to uncertainty and frustration if there are delays. By only offering what we have on hand, we ensure that you get your product without any unnecessary waiting.

4. Maintaining Trust: Your trust is important to us. We don’t want to promise something we can’t immediately deliver. By not offering preorders, we make sure that when you purchase from us, you know exactly what you’re getting and when you’ll receive it.
