Having given Poppy her first makeover yesterday , I thought I was seeing double when gorgeous little Lottii walked through my doors for her first groom today . Another absolute sweetheart who didn’t need to go short , she had a Puppy / Teddy Bear trim. Thanks so much to her family for bringing her in before her coat got out of hand . 😊🥰

It’s always a thrill to be able to give a major makeover and turn your scruffy little dog into a cute little teddy bear. Poppy was no exception today. She came in for her pamper just before her coat became too knotty, which meant she could have a nice manageable style without being clipped off short. An absolute sweetheart who left with a very happy mum 😊🥰

Do you have a small breed dog whose coat is starting to get quite knotty , but you think it’s too cold to clip it off? Please don’t leave it until it’s matted to the skin and has to be shaved right back. If you have it groomed before that stage , I should be able to wash and dry the coat and hopefully leave some style or cute factor. More than happy to discuss options with you . To give you an idea , here are a couple of Before & After pictures of dogs who came in with quite a bit of matting , which I trimmed this week . Any questions, please feel free to ask . JUNE LONG WEEKEND. Although I’m normally closed on the Saturday of Long Weekends, my Salon will be open 9-11 am this Saturday 8/06/24. I always consider it a privilege to be a part of your precious pets lives . Although most of it is a happy time, it can also be tinged with sadness and sympathy when their life ends. I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to help them through their lives to be clean and comfortable, and to form bonds . This is a lovely thought from a couple who rescued a little dog 11 years ago, ( put in a shelter as her owners wanted to travel!). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving her a terrific life, and trusting me with her. She was a sweetheart,and I hope you find comfort in her memories . 🥰

For those with cats, I hope this post is helpful. Although I no longer groom cats, I am still happy to clip nails for $5 per cat as long as it’s easy to handle. I’m not set up for washing and clipping cats, which means it would be stressful on them and me as there’s always lots of dogs coming and going. Yes, I do love cats, Yes, I would love to help everyone who needs cats groomed, and No, it’s not that I’m biased, but I always want the best for your pets. There is a dedicated Cat Groomer located at Kanmantoo, which is only about 15 minutes from Murray Bridge, and I’m more than happy to pass her number along. Are you looking to have more connection and easier communication with your dog? I highly recommend enrolling in Puppy School or Level 1 training at Petstock Country Murray Bridge. Mischief and I went for a 5 week course and benefited a lot. Molly our instructor was excellent, times are convenient, classes are limited to 4 dogs, and held in a safe environment , and a lot of general life skills are learnt in a fun and relaxed way. Puppies or adults are welcome. Feel free to pop in and speak to the girls at @ Petstock Murray Bridge, or pick up a pamphlet from my Salon .

I have lots of people asking me where they can find their next Canine Companion. I really like Dogzonline as a starting point. Our 3 dogs ( who think they work in my Salon lol) have all come from me scrolling this site. It’s a great, easy to navigate website where you can find puppies, retired show dogs, rescued dogs, older puppies, or young adults who haven’t made the grade for showing or breeding. All breeders have to be registered with their State’s Governing Body and all relevant health testing has to be completed before breeding, which gives you a much better chance of having a healthy, hassle free dog. Most breeders are fussy about where their pets go, so do expect lots of questions. Hopefully this helps 😊

Bek assumed I was a girl ( ooops) and kept me, however as she doesn’t want to breed ducks, my handsome self is available to the right home. Here’s a classic example of why it’s really important to have your dogs nails regularly trimmed. If left to grow unchecked, they can be painful, distort the toes and affect joints, not to mention scratch us as well. This first picture shows the front feet with 1 foot trimmed and 1 not, just for comparison . The 2nd picture shows a back foot before and after trimming. I offer a nail trimming service, which is $5 per pet, for cats and dogs. Although I only groom small dogs now, I am happy to cut nails on any large breed dog, as long as it has basic manners. No appointment necessary, just turn up within business hours, and I do it while you wait 😊

Although I have been VERY slack creating a fb post , we definitely have our December Raffle running again . For every full groom , Beks Pet Grooming will be donating $1, and tickets are also available for $1 each . 1st prize is a beautiful Booster Seat , made and donated by Tail Rider . Made here in Murray Bridge , it’s the last of its kind as they’re no longer being made . 1st prize also includes a nice bottle of bubbly and a pet treats pack . 2nd prize is a little booster seat ( not Tail Rider ), which has also been kindly donated . Tickets will be drawn Saturday 23rd of December and winners notified by phone . All money raised will once again be donated to Cancer Council SA, who do a tremendous job helping our most vulnerable in need . Thank you all for supporting such a wonderful cause 😊
