Ten years ago, we opened our hearts to a little miracle—a three-legged rescue dog who has changed our lives in the best ways. She’s my princess, my little light, and she’ll always have a piece of my heart.
Bringing her home wasn’t just about giving her a place to belong; it was about her showing us what love, resilience, and pure joy really mean. She loves everyone she meets—never a stranger in her world—and she always has something to “say,” chatting and making friends everywhere she goes.
And then there’s her biggest joy: swimming! Watching her splash and glide through the water with so much happiness is one of my favorite things.
Beyond being my little shadow, she’s an incredible ambassador for rescue dogs across Australia, showing people just how amazing these animals are and how much love they have to give.
Her strength and sweetness inspire everyone she meets, and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.
To my little princess, thank you for a decade of love, laughter, and lessons I’ll carry forever. Here’s to more swims, more smiles, cuddles, ear scratches and many more memories together. You’ve got my heart, sweet girl.

The majority of our rescue partners are 100% volunteer run and need all the help they can get.
Last year we were able to donate $50,000 to Hunter Valley Animal Facility & Rehoming Centre to purchase their brand new "Freedom Waggin" and get on the road to help not only save more lives but also make their day-to-day operations easier.

The team at No Pup Cleft Behind perform around the clock care for puppies born with a cleft palate, making sure they have every chance to live full and healthy lives.
They recently extended their facilites to allow them save more pups and needed some help getting some final essential items completed. We donated $6,500 to cover the costs of connecting power to their container, supplying and installing an air con unit, purchasing a new 100L volume incubator, and a whelping box.
It's lovely to see that they also got an extra paw from a very cute little pup!

A few weeks ago, the team at @savourlife reached out to us asking if we needed help with anything.
We'd been scratching our heads about how we were going to be able to afford to connect power to our container when the team at Savourlife came to our rescue.

Now we have a nice safe air conditioned space that we can use for our pups when we need to pop out for errands or they need somewhere to recover from surgery.

A brighter future for laboratory dogs
To ensure that they could continue to help hundreds of beagles, hounds and other vulnerable dogs every year Beagle Rescue Victoria Inc. had to update their facilities to meet their local council’s new requirements.
Beagle Rescue Victoria and Beagle Freedom Australia have built relationships with research laboratories to take hundreds of dogs who would have otherwise been euthanised at the end of their laboratory use.
Without their important kennel space the number of dogs they would able to help in the future would have been limited and the dogs would have to go directly into foster homes without a sound knowledge of how they would behave and react in certain situations.
Having a safe space to house the dogs when they first come into care ensures the safety of the rescued dogs and the new families that open their homes to them. It gives dogs who have had limited exposure to the world a chance to decompress and learn how to trust humans and realise how exciting life can be!
Beagle Rescue applied for Buddy's Grant last year and we were proud to award them with $50,000 to upgrade their kennels, helping them give these beautiful, deserving dogs a brighter future.
