Saving Animals Matters is a self-funded, not-for-profit rescue charity based in Western Australia. We strive to provide a second

chance for animals who find themselves in the situation of being surrendered, homeless, neglected or abused. Our rescue charity operates by utilising a foster care system, meaning each animal enjoys a loving, stable family environment until they find their forever home. This foster process allows us to get to know every animal in our care, their unique personality, background, as well as their individual physical and emotional needs. Here at Saving Animals Matters, we pride ourselves on matching each individual animal to the most suitable and compatible home. It is through this thorough process that we can give both the rescued animals and their new human companions the best chance at a happy and fulfilling life together. We are fortunate enough to have the support of dedicated volunteers, however are always seeking new members to join our friendly team. Fostering is both a generous and rewarding experience and we appreciate each one of our carers. 🔮 ZAARTAR 🔮

Zaartar has made his store debut at PetStock Cannington✨

Hi, my name's Zaartar & I came into the care of the rescue after being surrendered by my previous owner. Thankfully the rescue found a wonderful carer who was able to take me in.

With a white coat adorned with grey highlights, amber eyes and suishy face… I’m one unique looking kitty. My hope is that this will help someone overlook my initial timidness becos' if your patient with me, you’ll see how amazing I really am. Yep, I'm actually a very sweet kitty.... it just takes me a bit of time to establish trust with someone. I've made a great deal of progress in the short time I've been in foster care which can be attributed to the love and care my foster mum has provided. I now enjoy pats, actually... I love pats, I love a spot of snuggles and I even purrrrr! While I am for the most part much more confident than I was at first... as I mentioned, I can be wary of new people. It just takes me a bit of time to adjust to change. The good news? I have bucket loads of potential... I’m just looking for that special someone to share that with.

So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? Cats? I've previously bunked with another feline so may adjust to the company of another cat. Careful and considered introductions is the key to success! Dogs? Same deelio as cats. Currently in care with a dog and have adapted well to their company. Children? I’m great with children, however would prefer a home without younger kidlets (ages 5+). Special notes? Adopters with experience (with my breed) is an absolute must. I have unique requirements that my adopter will need to be prepared for- which include (but aren't limited to):

💗 Regular grooming (I struggle to clean myself due to how flat my face is)
💗 Regular cleaning of my nose (due to the structure of my nasal passage, it often 'blocks up).
💗 Regular dentals as I mature
💗 Poor vision (I prefer to squint)
💗 Frequent eye discharge requiring regular wiping (tear stains)
💗 Shorter lifespan

🦋 GRACE 🦋

Hi, my name's Grace & I came into the care of the rescue after finding myself with my siblings homeless at a local pound. We hadn't had a great deal of contact with people so were on the timid side, but, that's now a distant memory.

I'm an affectionate little lass that delights in the company of my human counterparts. In fact, I'm the first of my cohort to make a break for the door in the mornings to greet our foster mumma. I'll typically then proceed to envelope myself around her legs. I demand affections, I need affections, I ex-pect affections.... If there are others in the way of getting my affections, you can best believe I'll be strategically placing myself between them and the humans. What I'm saying here is, I'm a super smoochy kitten that'll thrive in a home seeking a companion kitty. I'll make an excellent lap warmer and an even better neck warmer.

When I'm not spending time with the humans, you'll find me either engaged in a spot of bird watching by my favourite window, or crash tackling my foster brother. If there is a game of rugby in the mix, I'm all about it.

So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? I'll suit a home that's patient and will give me plenty of time to adjust to all the change that comes with an adoption. Cats? I’ve previously bunked with other kitties, so that's a yes! Dogs? Yes! Children? Yes, however I'll need space from time to time (ages 5+)."

🚨 HONEY UPDATE🚨

✨ EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER – MUM CAT & BABIES ✨

Honey has had surgery and is recovering from the procedure. Unfortunately this has meant her 1-2 week old kittens require hand-rearing. 2 of which are not doing all that great and are being assessed and monitored. Please keep everything crossed for Honey and her bubs.

While we raised some of the funds needed for Honey & her babies care and treatment, unfortunately we're a far cry from covering the costs. If you can spare a few dollars, please consider Honey & her bubs.

🩶 PEARL 🩶

Hi, my name's Pearl & I came into the care of the rescue after finding myself homeless and pregnant, at a local pound. Thankfully the rescue found a wonderful carer who was able to take me in.

Precious, special, rare, striking & beautiful.... I'm Pearl.

As I'm sure you can tell from my pictures, I'm no ordinary kitty. I like people. I like people a lot. One could class me as a ‘smoocher’. What’s a smoocher you ask? Well.... it's a kitty that absolutely adores, I mean yearns for the company of their human counterparts. The sort of kitty that seeks any opportunity to have a snuggle, and they’re not fussy where. And what if this kitty isn't successful on their snuggle request ventures? Well, you best be prepared to hear about it in the form of tail flicks, meows, head boops, knocking items from your hands (in protest), nudges, zoomies between your legs... Likely combination of those things. N' when I'm not curled up into someone (anyone's) lap? You'll find me fully engaged in an exploration adventure followed closely by my siblings... wait, I mean 'pride'. All in all I'm a courageous, spirited, curious & inquisitive king to be.... Yes, that's me!

So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? The rescue claims that I'm the best cat in all the lands. Yep, a one in a million. I'm SUPER chilled, which means I'll suit a variety of homes. Cats? I enjoy the company of other kitties. I will thrive in a home with a feline friend or 2! Dogs? I've been in care with a pooch and got along with him just fine. Children? I'm great with children, however will need space from time to time (ages 3+). Special notes? As I'm a cross breed, I'm not suited to applicants with allergies.

Hi, my name’s Lollie & I came into the care of the rescue after finding myself homeless and scared at a local pound in my mumma’s belly. Thankfully the rescue found a wonderful carer who was able to take me in.

A kitten that absolutely thrives on human affections. Yup, that's me.... a smoocher. There's nowhere that I'd rather be than on the lap, arm, neck, shoulder or legs of my nearest and dearest. When I'm not seeking the attention of my pawrents, you'll generally find me engaged in a spot of rough n' tumble with my siblings.

So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? Due to my affectionate nature, I'd best suit a home seeking a companion kitty. Cats? I haven't been tested with other cats, however the rescue is confident I'll adapt to their company with time. Dogs? Same deelio as cats. Children? I'll do great in a home with kidlets who're respectful of my space (ages 3+).

🌸🩷 ALICE 🩷🌸

Hi, my name’s Alice & I came into the care of the rescue after finding myself homeless and scared at a local pound whilst being heavily pregnant. Thankfully the rescue found a wonderful carer who was able to take me in.

I'm a social young kitty with a healthy appetite for human affections. Actually, the healthy comment is up for debate. What do I mean by that? Well, I’m a bit of a smooch. The kinda kitty that seeks any and every opportunity for a snuggle. Snuggles is where it’s at. When I’m not shadowing the humans for affections? Well, you’ll generally find me curled up on my lounge of choice.

So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? A home seeking a companion kitty. Cats? As I'm currently nursing kittens, the rescue has been unable to safely test me with other cats. Dogs? Same deelio as cats. Children? I’ll be fine with children as long as I’m given space 'to chill' when needed (ages 5+).

Did you know that black cats are the most overlooked in rescue? While their lighter-colored friends are chosen quickly, our beautiful black kitties often wait… and wait… and wait. We STILL have Comet & Peri Peri who have grown from tiny kittens into young adults in care.

They have amazing foster homes but do you know what would be even better? A FOREVER home and a family to call their own!

It breaks our hearts because they each has so much love to give. Behind their golden eyes is a story of survival, of hope and of a kitty just waiting for their chance at a forever home.

💚🦎 GIN 🦎💚

Hi, my name is Gin & I came into the care of the rescue with my brother after being surrendered due to a change in circumstances of our previous owner. Thankfully the rescue was contacted who wasted no time in finding a suitable foster carer.

I’m a sweet natured lad with a social & confident personality. I’m typically the first of our duo to explore new surroundings and almost always the first to approach new people! New= exciting and I’m all about exciting! All in all, I guess you could say that I’m a bit of a social butterfly. Aside from being an inquisitive lass with a thirst for adventure, my foster mother has otherwise dubbed me as a ‘smoocher’. What’s a smoocher you ask? Well.... it's the sorta’ kitty that absolutely adores, I mean ADORES the company of their human counterparts. The sort of kitty that seeks any opportunity to have a cuddle, and I’m not fussy where or when! I just can’t live without my cuddles.

So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? I'm in need of a patient and understanding adopter that will give me plenty of time to adjust to my new home. Cats? I enjoy the company of other kitties and will do well in a home with an existing kitty or 2! Dogs? Yes! Children? A home without youngsters please! (ages 7+).
