Special Collars For My “Precious Angels”.
My Collar making journey commenced in 2014 when I saved my 3 “precious angels” from the greyhound racing industry. “Star” my black greyhound girl was 2 yrs old and had injured her shoulder in a race and was due for “retirement” (euthanasia). “Dolly” my fawn girl was just a baby at 18 mths old when she was deemed too slow and useless for the racing game. My white boy “Napoleon” was around 6 yrs old and rescued from the streets of Sydney, starving, dirty, and skeletal, another discarded waste product of the Greyhound racing industry.
They are such gentle and regal creatures and I wanted them to feel unique and special and worthy of all the spoiling they were now going to receive. I found beautiful and unique jacquard ribbons and started to make their collars. I then went on to make collars for friends and relatives and many dog breed rescue groups in and around Newcastle, NSW.
In 2019 my husband Steve, myself and our 3 greyhounds, 2 English Bullterriers “Adorabull” and “Stewart Little” and 4 cats, “Blue”, “Esmerelda”, “Puffin” and “Fairy” moved to Yanchep, Western Australia. I left my job as a registered nurse to make collars, leads and sight hound coats to sell at the markets around the Perth,WA .
