Sad news out of No Hairs Ark in the last 24 hours. Going all the way back to May 2020, when we met Valley (aka Ellie), we knew right out of the gate that she was a special one. I've linked to her original post about how sickly she was and added a photo of how we best remember her.

Given that she was so poorly, we didn't think she was going to be sharing this world for long, but we were pleasantly surprised by how much life she still had to live.

Valley with the belly lived for another wonderful 4.5 years in her permanent foster home, becoming a Bendall through and through, though we still cared for most of her medical needs.

Yesterday afternoon, she was given her rainbow wings with the help of Dr Alison from My Best Friend Veterinary End of Life Care at home, surrounded by all the love that kept her going all these years. Sadly love alone cannot beat the aggressive cancer she was diagnosed with only 3 months ago.

All our love to Valley's family, who knew the little pork chop as Ellie, as Pigley, and as the dog that opened hearts.

Agnes is the absolute definition of "you can't keep them all, Laura"
She is such a great little allrounder of a dog, who shone brightly at the Dog Lovers Festival a few weeks ago, despite the huge amount of stress it would have been on most dogs.

After a successful Dog Lovers Festival (with thanks to the humans Saoirse, Marshall and Ebony, as well as the dogs Marlon, Agnes, Woodle, Kiki and Tony) I am pleased to say there has been a successful stocktake!

The No Hairs Ark store is officially back online fully stocked with your old favourites and exciting new additions (like some UV reactive and glow in the dark clothing options!)

I didn't get much time to take photos today, but here are the few I did take. It features a combination of Agnes, Kiki, Tony, and Noodle. Also pictured is Marlon, the very reluctant patriarch of The Ark... who looked like he was over it by 10 am! I think this is his 6th Dog Lovers Festival, and it shows.

Peaches is a 2 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 9kg female Chinese Crested X Mexican Hairless who’s looking for a loving home.
She’s a very sweet natured little girl who’s a big snuggler. She’d thrive in a happy, calm, all adult home or one with gentle, dog savvy older children.
Peaches is quite an active girl who loves her daily walks and is great with other dogs. She’d love a home with another small to medium sized dog for company. She’s also good with cats.
She enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. Because of her lack of a coat, she requires extra care such as wearing a jacket in the cold or rain. A home with a dog door would be ideal, so she can decide whether to be inside or out.

A massive update out of Cowra earlier this afternoon. After two and a half weeks on the lam, little Frankie has been secured. Massive thanks to Arthur & Co. Pet Detectives, Ebony, the supportive town of Cowra, all those who shared the updated and kept a level head in this hound hunt and, of course, Frankie's ma, Derani. This was a very strategic stakeout for a very flighty and fearful dog and thankfully this was a great outcome for all involved, especially Frankie.

I feel like we've all been there, Aggie.

Agnes is a very recent No Hairs Ark visitor. She's come along great, but still needs work around leash walking and house training. If I get my way, she will hopefully become a No Hairs Ark Representative. It's been nice having a girl in the house again.
