Chester has always been difficult to photograph, but I was in luck as he lay on the floor waiting for Rufus to wake up. It was so sweet, the dear boy waited and waited, and when he couldn't wait any longer he went to his room for a nap....just as Rufus woke up!! I'll have to get you in sync boys!

A SAD GOODBYE TO CHICKO
I am so sad to say that my darling little friend Chicko passed away yesterday. She went home on Monday after a long stay here and I'm grateful that we had the time together. I knew that it would be the last time I would see her, and I suspect that Chicko knew too. On her final night here, she came to me and gave me so many nose kisses then took herself back to bed.....I believe it was our final loving goodbye.
My heart goes out to Lynne and Duncan who gave Chicko a long wonderful life, filled with love and so much care. They are missing their little girl sorely, but knew that her time had come.
Chicko, I loved having you here each and every time, we had something so special between us. I miss you beautiful girl, and will always see you here at your favourite spot, catching the breeze and the sunshine. Chicko, my sweet little feline friend, you were magnificent. 💔💔💔

My beautiful senior guest Chicko waits for me to serve her next meal. She goes home on Monday after a long stay here. The years have caught up with her in many ways, but the spark is still there. We will be having lots of cuddles before she goes home. Love you my darling girl. 💕💕💕

My beautiful first-time guest Polly went home today. I was delighted with the way she adapted to life at Gilbert Cottage. She became confident, affectionate and so playful. We're missing you already gorgeous girl. 💕💕💕

Hello, I'm Polly, and this is my first visit to Gilbert Cottage. I was a little bit scared, I didn't know what was happening. My Mum and Dad rescued me when I was a little kitten and I love them very much. I didn't know why they brought me to another place but there are lots of cool things for me to play on and climb. Christine made friends with me and now I'm making friends with Rufus too. I think I like it here and Christine says that Mum and Dad will come back for me in a little while. I'm being very brave and I'm getting lots of cuddles.....that really helps. 😻😽😽😽

I love my senior guests, and Chicko is the most senior of them all. She has attitude, loves her cuddles and nose kisses, and spends her days basking in the sun and catching the breeze. She's very precious and I'm so privileged to have her here.

A TRIBUTE TO CHARLIE
I'm very sad to say that beautiful Charlie passed away last week at the age of 15. His devoted mumma Sue gave Charlie a wonderful life, filled with love, and when challenging health problems arose, she did everything possible to help him. They were such a close pair, and our hearts go out to Sue who is missing her boy sorely. He was a delightful, gentle little man.
Rest gently sweet Charlie, you will always be a part of the Gilbert Cottage family. 💙💙💙

Dear Chicko is keeping cosy in her pod today. It has been a worrying time with her of late as some health issues arose (which is to be expected at 19). I'm pleased and relieved to say that after a visit from the vet and two injections, Chicko is improving very well. My fears have been allayed. Good for you darling girl. 💕💕💕
