We are a kitten and cat rescue group run by volunteers. MEOW rescue is a NOT for profit organisation which rescues Cats and Kittens within the Melbourne area.

Our moto is to rescue, rehabilitate & rehome.

f foster carers in their own homes so come socialised and in most cases have had interaction with other cats and dogs. All kittens and cats have been vet checked, wormed, treated for fleas, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and are looking for their purrfect home.

We work with the community, shelters/pounds and other rescue groups to make change in the lives of so many unwanted animals. We run a last litter program whereby people surrender their litter of kittens to us and we desex the Mother cat for free, thus stopping the cycle of unwanted litters. We are also happy to discuss any issues relating to your cats/kittens and try to help keep these cats and kittens out of pounds. The bestest boy. Loves cuddles and to snuggle on the couch. Very easy going and adaptable. Down for a play with a toy if you are but would probably prefer spooning. Playful and loving boy would suit most households. Raised in foster care with cats and a cavoodle!

These babes are now 5 weeks old! Not far off vet work however still requiring lots of their foster carers time as they are just starting to enjoy solid food and wean off the bottle.

Please desex your pets 🐈 these kittens were found in a roof, poor mum got scared off when kittens were found however meow rescue is still trying to assist to find mum so she can be desexed and find a loving home!!

Reach out if you have a mum or dad cat not desexed and their kittens! We have a last litter program to try and STOP the cycle…

Baxter update:
Our darling boy was discharged from hospital today into the care of his loving foster mum. His surgeons inserted a tube into his bladder that is attached to the outside. This allows us to drain his wee straight from his bladder which gives his w***y area time to heal after a nasty infection.
Unfortunately, Baxter will need more surgery in the future but now we are concentrating on his recovery from yesterday’s ordeal. He is feeling much happier and hasn’t stopped purring. He is such an amazing boy.
A huge thank you to all our supporters who have so far donated $700 to his care. Hopefully we can get lots more donations to help cover his $4000 account. A huge thanks to PenVET and Meow Vet for discounting their services too.

Scarlett has the sweetest face and temprement, she would do well in a home with someone’s lap to lay in, or a cat sibling. She will often wander off on her own and happily plays with toys and loves chasing anything that moves!
Whilst she has a knack for unraveling a toilet roll, her unique and quirky personality certainly makes up for it
Not tested with dogs and probably better with older kids, enjoys her siblings company so would transition to another cat home with gentle introduction

Baxter update.

Firstly, thank you for donating. So far we have around $250 towards his care. Still a long way to go but we will get there.

Late this afternoon, Baxter was transferred to PenVet in Mornington where he underwent a specialised surgery to have a cystotomy tube placed. This allows direct access to his bladder to get his wee out and to allow time to see if his w***y gets better or if further surgery is required when he is bigger.

His foster mummy has been down to give him his bottle and cuddles. Baxter purred loudly, drank well and then fell asleep for an hour in his mummy's arms.

The wonderful team at Penvet will look after him during the night and we will update you all in the morning.

Until then, sleep well Baxter and stay strong. We all love you. 💕

Urgent, we desperately need your help please!

Meet Baxter. This gorgeous little boy was found with his 4 siblings abandoned at 2 weeks old. They have been in foster care being fed around the clock by their loving carer.

Unfortunately Baxter had to be rushed to Meow & Friends Vet this morning as he was unable to urinate. He has a very rare condition where the prepuce (skin over the p***s) has closed so that he cannot go to the toilet. The wonderful vets were able to make an incision but unfortunately he needs lifesaving surgery by a specialist to fix the problem.

Baxter is the most loving boy and deserves this surgery but unfortunately it will come at a substantial cost- we estimate it to be around 3000-4000.

Meet Eric
He was found dumped with his siblings and handed into a vet clinic.
Eric was born with some missing toes but that Doesn't let his missing toes stop him and is the cheekiest of the brothers. He has gives a soft meow when he would like attention and cuddles. Your heart will melt when he gently taps you with his little paw. Be warned though, he loves snacks and may try to take yours 🤣
He has been raised with a caboodle and other cats and enjoys their company. He would do best with older children over 10yrs old!

Aurora has a massive personality and if the leader of the princesses always at the front of the mischief. But she is the last to love cuddles and likes to make you work for them by playing chase. She came to rescue as part of our last litter program. Aurora loves playing and chasing her sisters but also loves a sunny spot with the older cats. She would suit most households with teens. She loves other cats but hasn’t met a dog yet, with slow introduction to a gentle dog she should be fine.

Uncle Mike the kitten whisper, cleaner and lover, has been in care for over 10 months and he has only had one application and they didn’t even turn up. He is the best and most handsome boy and absolutely loves other cats especially kittens. He is a fantastic nurse to his humans too, always checking in and making the puuurfect biscuits for them. Last week we received a mercy call regarding a young, homeless mum cat, with 5 babies, who had a fish hook stuck through her eyelid. Thankfully the great team at Keysborough Vet Clinic jumped into action and successfully removed the hook. Our wonderful foster carer Emma, kindly took in mum and bubs to care for. As you can see, mumma cat, now named Gracie, loves showing her appreciation to Emma. Gracie and her babies will be up for adoption in the not too distant future.
