Our Story

What is Medinaa? Medinaa is a family-owned business located in Carbrook, south of Brisbane, that specialises in handmade horse tack. My current collection includes finely crafted rope halters, lead ropes, and bracelets. As both, owner and artist, I value quality and design above all, and I make sure I purchase high-grade materials from Australian owned companies. I take great care in crafting each item and always strive to advance my skills. Designing the halters and other pet products is something very fulfilling to me. Seeing the final product and being able to share it with you makes my heart jump. Growing up I have wanted nothing more than to deck out horses in beautiful matching colour combos, and not only that, but I wanted to match too! That’s where the idea of the bracelet comes from. And this is only the beginning. When you love what you do and are passionately involved, the sky is the limit. So watch this space! Who am I? My name is Judy and I was born in Germany. I live on a mini farm in Carbrook with my husband and two beautiful daughters. We have two cheeky horses (Kira, a Quarab mare, and Lukey, a purebred Arabian yearling), two spoiled rotten whippets (Sammy and Ollie), 2 guinea pigs (Princess and Rey), and 6 chickens (Gecko, Chookie, Moana, Maui, HeiHei, and Shiny). I have always been the creative type, from painting and candle making to cake decorating and furniture restoration. Family and friends have loved my creations and encouraged me to take things further. But nothing really grabbed me until I started making horse tack. The combination of art and horses is where I found my passion. So, with the support of my friends and family I bit the bullet and created Medinaa. The initial response was incredibly overwhelming and humbling. It is the biggest gift to be allowed to do what you love. It doesn’t feel like work. It feels like creating connections and making other people happy. So this is me at my rawest, counting my lucky stars that Medinaa allows me to support my amazing family. What is yet to come? I am currently working on expanding my collection and look forward to Medinaa growing and blossoming in the coming months.
