The Mini Farm Project We are a charity that converts under-utilised spaces into urban farms to grow food for those in need. Please check our page for volunteer events.

Our motto is "Resolving food insecurity in a changing climate". Our experienced farmers use regenerative organic agriculture practices. So the food we grow is more nutritious and improves the soil. We operate on a self-sustaining model: a portion of our produce is available for sale to families and businesses in Brisbane so that we can fund our program. Each week we are then able to gift high qual

ity food to charities like Meals on Wheels and local community centres. Support us by diverting some of your grocery shop here: https://www.minifarmbox.com.au/

50 Volunteers joined us from Rio Tinto this morning thanks to our membership with Volunteering Queensland.

Over 120 hours of work was accomplished is 2 and a half hours of work.

This is the power of corporate volunteering for small charities.

Today volunteers helped with weeding in the field, cleaned our shed, tidied the tank area and aloe helped move soil and create beds with Green Thumb Farm.

A New Opportunity for The Mini Farm Project:

We are excited to share that The Mini Farm Project has an incredible opportunity to develop a Youth Training Farm at the Youth Enterprise Trust's Woodstock Farm.

This initiative will help us train the next generation of farmers while continuing to provide free meals to vulnerable communities.

However, as with many charities across Australia, this year has been challenging.

The rising cost of living has led to a significant decline in donations, and despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure the bridge funding needed to sustain our current farms at Samford and Loganlea.

As a result, after much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close both sites—Loganlea and Samford at the end of October.

While it’s never easy to say goodbye to these farms, this is not the end for us.

We’re embracing this moment as a chance to refocus our energy on creating sustainable, self-funding projects and expanding our impact through new farm sites.

Our vision remains clear: to Feed Aussies in Need and to build a network of charity farms across Australia.

With the Woodstock Youth Training Farm, we are excited to push forward with a model that not only feeds communities but also educates and empowers young people.

We’re so grateful for the support we’ve received from our community, sponsors and donors over the years and are excited to share this new chapter with you.

We would like to thank the hard work of our farmers Liam and Rob at Samford and Kirsty, Natalia and Shayne at Loganlea as well as the countless volunteers who have given their time.

If you would like to support our work, you can purchase our coffee or participate in our Feed Australia Challenge at www.mfp.org.au.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue our mission to make a meaningful impact.

BIG thanks and shout out to the Vandal’s who chose to rip the doors off our cart when they were unlocked with nothing inside on Sunday night.

This is the fifth incident of toss ups and minor damage since the break in event a few weeks ago.

The charity space across Australia 🇦🇺 is suffering enough without these types of incidents.

If this moves you to help DON’T Donate but BUY our Coffee ☕️ instead. It’s a win win for all and we can do the repairs we need and keep going

They worked hard placing mulch around our tank area. This will help suppress weeds and grass over summer.

We will be supporting the Moreton Bay Farm Trail again this September 7th.

Community is at the heart of what we do and we are building something amazing here at the Samford Farm Precinct with our site partners Green Thumb Farm.

A Food Resilience Hub to showcase connecting to food in your back yard and showcasing using under-utilised spaces to grow food to feed Aussies in Need.

Today as we right this post there are OVER 3.7 million households struggling to put food on their tables. Meaning families, individuals, and children are skipping meals or going whole days without eating.

Additionally, thanks to the cost of living crisis, charities are struggling to continue their works across Australia due to fewer donations. We are not immune. The services that we provide are essential and we are working on a variety of funding and self funding projects.

We have a viable and proven solution. To create a network of charity farms from Coolangatta to Cairns then around Australia. Growing fruit, veg, fish, eggs, bush food and more each week for free to our charity partners to create meals for Aussies in Need.

We are opening our farm at The Mini Farm Project on Saturday 7th September where you can see what we do first hand.

Our Farm Gate will be open longer so you can grab some of our Farm Fresh Produce and Produce from our Friends. This will be our fundraiser and you can also buy our coffee here - https://mfp.org.au/collections/mini-farm-coffee

Come see the amazing work we are doing and how we plan to do to Fight Hunger in Australia.
