And done! Many thanks to Mick Bird for your time on the skiddy, and including some horse training time too. The arena looks fantastic, Monkey and Moose are now painted and sporting their tails. The monument and arena looks fabulous!

We are also introducing Cookie who is our next young horse to enter our starting program. We will be putting more up on this young horse as he progresses.

And that is a wrap for the weekend clinic.

Today's photos are from our trail ride today at case's lane. Everyone was challenged at some point, none more so than Leanne taking Sungold Tex threw new situations. Anyone working with young horses knows it requires vigilance, care and caution to succeed growing without hiccups hopefully. Everyone would also have despite best efforts, not succeeded every after. The learning is in the attempt, and being supportive for our young equines is imperative to good outcomes.

Well done to everyone today who rode with smiles and enjoyment. There was much to work on during the ride, and lots to explore for future training.

Minx and Molly surprised their riders with a canter, much to the riders delight. A lovely canter in a lovely environment is always fun.

Was excellent to meet new faces, catch up with treasured old ones, and a regular face all mixed together again creating a fabulous weekend of learning. This time we used working equitation style obstacles and adapting the exercise according to the horse and riders level. Excellent progress by all riders.

Looking forward to the next day which is February 15th. More photos to come we hope. Once again we extend our thanks to all helpers on the weekend, team work makes the dreams better.

Happy ponies everyone

JANUARY SOCIAL DAY - SATURDAY 18th

We are looking forward to another excellent weekend of people and ponies coming together to have fun teaching ourselves and our ponies. Education is the key to moving forward with success. The more knowledge we gain and have at hand, the better options we get to choose from.

With 9 rider and horses booked in for Saturday's Working Equitation Obstacle Training and 7 riders for Sunday's Trail ride, we are going to have an excellent weekend indeed.

Arrival time is 4 pm, with on the arena session at 5 pm. We will continue until we are ready for dinner - this time we have stroganoff, quiche, salad, garlic bread and banana bread for dessert.

For those camping, there are plenty of yards for the horses, as usual we will assign yards on arrival. Please remember our parking can get interesting, so we ask people to turn around prior to parking.

The cover photo today is of three amazing ladies who have achieved so very much in the time we have known them. It is an excellent achievement from Libby, Rosie and Leanne, to be out successfully enjoying our beautiful Australian bush on their wonderful ponies. There is no such thing as "just" trail riding - trail riding safely is a challenge indeed, and anyone who trail rides deserves respect. One of many ways we enjoy spending time with our ponies.

Welcome all to 2025, may it be a kinder year than last.

We have not been idle over the Christmas New Year, and we are looking forward to everyone enjoying the upgrades as they come threw.

We are kicking the year off with Saturday 18th, arrival time from 4 onwards, dinner at 8, and camp overs welcome. Activities this time is going to be Working Equitation Obstacles, and developing training tactics for you and your horse. How do you know what to focus on, what exercises and approaches are suitable - Handy Hint - every combination is Unique - and how to tell a good method from one that may be doing harm later down the track. Every horse and every rider is at different stages, so we need to be open to different approaches depending on who we are and our horses.

We know our aim - Calm confident willing horses who will say "Yes, sure" when we ask them a question. Learning how to lead that as a Rider / Trainer is a part of the education. Anxious people make anxious horses, so developing confidence is key for both the horse and rider. Here, we teach riders to help their horses gain confidence and willingness in the world. It is a grand thing to do, to help our Equines become their best. It makes for Happy Ponies so Happy People.

CONGRATULATIONS to Leanne on winning the heart of Sungold Tex. Leanne has come a few times to see Tex to get to know him, here she is riding him out for the first time. Tex behaved beautifully throughout, and we are delighted to know that Tex is looking forward to all the times ahead with his new person.

Here at PMB we prefer to match clients with people over time, to ensure a great match between the horse and the person. Tex has not quite finished his education, but he will not be leaving until mid /end of january, allowing Leanne to find her feet and really get to know this cheeky, kind pony. Congratulations Leanne!!

And thats a wrap for our 2024 Social Days! Thank you to all attendees, who made the day fun, supportive and learning. Those who didnt manage to come, put aside JANUARY 18th for our next one! We will stick to commencing at a later time to avoid the heat again.

Highlights of yesterday include the first appearance of Big Red Fred, the new neddy on the block. Young Fred is a 6yr old OTTB who finished racing in September. He did not put a foot wrong for his 5th ride under saddle, and was well handled by Sam, who gave him an excellent experience. Thank you Sam for your riding.

The other PMB star was Sungold Tex, who only 9 days ago trotted on the arena by himself for the first time. Yesterday, he had a brand new rider in Leanne, who Tex connected with beautifully. Tex had never worked in a group before, and was introduced to games and people going feral all around him. Leanne rode him beautifully, and at the end of the day, was walking, trotting and listening exceptionally well to his rider. A great outcome!

Excellent to see some of the horses use cantering through the bending poles to find their flying changes! Franklin, Rio, Summer all showed off how good the excercise is for helping horses learn how to balance a rider threw the poles.

Tully, the very pretty spotted gentleman, coped very well with his new experience in a large group, once again showing off his tremendously brilliant attitude.

Great to be able to watch Franklin the black Fresian lad show off his paces and potential, looking forward to seeing this young horse develop over the next few years. Medium dressage in a few years is the call.....

Dinner was well received, glad everyone enjoyed the feasting. Good connections and positive vibes happened all evening. A pleasure to share the food and conversations to support one another.

Enjoy the photos - everyone was too busy enjoying to take very many, but here is what we have.

Kris took the opportunity to come on a trail ride Sunday morning, she and Pepper up-skilling along the way. A lovely ride amongst the cool of the trees and down by the water. Great work Kris!

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and keep enjoying your ponies, no matter what size they are!

DECEMBER SOCIAL DAY TOMORROW!!

We are looking forward to everyone coming tomorrow for our Horse Social Day tomorrow afternoon. To remind everyone riding and horse work COMMENCES 5PM, this is to work around the heat. Finish time will be when we feel like it.

We have people staying over, there are yards for horses and camping for people.

The food hopefully will be passable.... Current menu (open to change) is:-

Greek Salad
Garlic Bread
Satay (Chicken)
Quiche
Rice

Arrival time for those camping and needing setup time is from 4pm. Please remember when you arrive with floats, please TURN AROUND before parking. Space can get limited. Please ask where to park as we play a bit of vehicle tetris. 😉

Tomorrows agenda with the ponies is Games and Obstacles in training. If you have a problem with any particular obstacle eg Umbrella's, please bring or mention so we can resolve these stresses. Our aim is to produce Calm, Confident, Willing Horses who enjoy their work. Yes, horses can and should enjoy their work. The horses here line up at the gate to be selected for the days work - mostly - because we also have youngster horses here with little education to begin with. Our mission here to help them become the horse that everyone loves.

Topics for conversation around the fire will be MYTH BUSTING. The horse world is full of much conflict about what is needed to be best things for our Horses. We are going to challenge some of the mis-information out there, for example, the breaking in age of horses. Lets create knowledgeable thinking riders and trainers. Remember - if you are a Rider - YOU ARE A TRAINER. If you handle a horse - YOU ARE A TRAINER. What sort of Trainer do you want to be?

The dam out the back currently has lots of lovely water in it, so for those who want to practice getting horses into water - this weekend we can! Bring appropriate clothing for getting wet.

SUNDAY - Trail ride or Trail ride practice - we will make the plans Saturday night, according to who is coming. We will finish about midday, so we beat the heat.

Looking forward to our getting together tomorrow! Tomorrow we are all going to make good ponies even better!!

Sungold Tex remains a star. One week of trail riding and his confidence is growing. Tex continues to please, today finding his balance in the canter for the first time. We are very excited to be finding a new home for this delightful pony. Please enjoy!
Many thanks to Dave for the video and his excellent company along with Anna and Rio. It is excellent to watch young horses become solid and safe rides, very satisfying!

Sungold Tex on his first trail ride under saddle. This great pony will be looking for a suitable home in time. Tex has taken to being a working pony happily. He is working with sense and calmness. He is about 14.2, rising 5. If you are interested in this lovely gelding, please feel free to get in contact with Allie at PMB Equine. Tex is our latest breaker, it is always an excellent outcome to have a pony turn out to have such a grand willing calm attitude.

We would like to thank Mick for putting the next touch on the monument. Powder Monkey and Grease Monkey (Monks and Moose) now have their ears erected. They look fabulous and the whole monument captures the memory of the two Cleveland Bays perfectly. Dealing with such a huge loss has been challenging to say the least, but knowing they will be remembered and valued everyday is special. Many hands went to help put this together, a community. Thanks go to each and all of you for being a part of this journey.

There will be more modifications to come, but the Monument is essentially complete.

The lights work wonderfully and we are looking forward to running events over the Summer when the heat has left the day. Look out for December 14th details with the later start.

Great day at PMB Equine today at our fabulous social day. Not many photos because I get busy, but an excellent set of students today!.
We welcome Pi Monkey to the workforce, here she got two thumbs up from her cracking good rider, who asked to ride her again. Feels good to produce another top pony with a brilliant attitude. Producing great horses and riders is what we do!
Thank you everyone who came today!.

Update time
-------------

Hi Everyone, well past time we did an update on the happenings at PMB Equine! A series of photos for you all to enjoy while we catch up the news. As always there are new and old horses coming through the business, and some that give a good giggle.
Our first photo is introducing the newest edition to the PMB crew. We welcome The Red Monkey, alias Fred. Fred stopped racing about 7 weeks ago now and is going to be re-educated with an aim to get him out competing. At 16.2hh, he is a big tall soft horse with a willing nature. As always, it is a challenge for these horses to learn to mentally and physically adjust to life after racing. This lad is taking to all of very nicely indeed. At 6 years of age, we hope to have a lovely long time working with him.

In the next photo - look closely - it is not the same horse but another lovely big TB ranga called George who we really liked working with. A very lovely horse and owner we are looking forward to their next visit. Hopefully we can ride pairs one day with such well matched looking ponies!

Next is the VERY stunning 3 yr old - what a lovely horse with a temperament of the same quality as his paint job. We are very excited to be assisting these owners get this horse under saddle over the next 12 months. Beautiful horse of excellent quality indeed.

Our next photo is of course Sungold Tex, who has massively benefited from a winter out with the herd and is now beginning his under saddle work. He has matured and calmed and loves being a Big Boy, doing Big Boy work. He reports for duty with enthusiasm and is taking on all tasks now with pleasure. It is grand to see and we are looking forward to when we can announce this lovely pony will be ready for his new home. If you are looking for a lovely pony, get in contact and be involved with his training. The more an owner and pony know each other, the better. We hope you like the cheeky photo of him testing out the Monument strength (Pass mark, thank you Mick). The last two photos are of some of the rides we have done prior to putting a leg over Tex. Highly recommend the Wallerawang Bakery!

To move forward we are doing some planning ahead
UPCOMING DATES:
November 16 - Social Group day
December 14 - Christmas social day - Our Christmas get together - likely to start afternoon and finish under lights
January 18 - New years social day

other events we would like to run will be a twilight showjumping and some evening rides depending on the weather. Have you got an event you want to try or attend? We can take suggestions and see what we can organise. Here are some suggestions:
Games day, working equitation, training trail rides, dressage day, beginners day, kids day. Let us know and we will put things into the diary.

Communication - frustrating is the word - out of FB jail, but still not able to get back into the main messaging account. Sigh. Anyone who can help? Even the puter dudes gave up temporarily... Text / Call / Messages on 0428761254 will work. So love technology - NOT.

Available for lessons 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays) - your horse or one of the beautiful PMB equines - we can travel to Lithgow, Bathurst, Blue Mountains, Mudgee and around the Central West. With well over 4 decades of horsemanship, if you are looking to improve your relationship with your horse or have a problem that needs to be resolved, PMB has a vast amount of experience to hand. Our aim is to have calm, confident skilled people working with calm, willing and confident equines!

We teach everything from first time beginners, to ground work, to competition work.

Hello everyone! Gradually we are finding our feet here at PMB, with such a big break, it takes a bit of assessment and sorting to start to get back into the swing of things. Many thanks for your patience.

Apologies for the other Messenger account being down - in FB Jail for any time upto 30 days from a day - how long is the string..? meantime - there is Whatsapp, the old FB account - with Powder Monkey jumping the six bar at Rylstone Show at 1.35m. If you send a friend request - mention your fav pony or something as security... sigh...
