Northern Hemisphere Stud Season vacancy 2025 🐴🏇
Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons is currently recruiting for an Associate (Stud) position at our Lambourn Practice for the 2025 stud season.
The role will include primary responsibility for the stud rounds and will involve working with some of the Thoroughbred breeding community's most elite stud farms and horses. In addition, there will also be the opportunity to gain experience and exposure to our horses in training and sport horse side of the practice.
This role is for a fixed term of 6 months, starting mid-January until mid-July 2025. It is a full-time role, working 49 hours per week Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. The role will include contribution to the out of hours on-call service. Others hours, including Bank Holidays, may be required in accordance with the Practice needs.

We are looking for a Small Animal Vet, with a keen interest in ophthalmology, to join the team at Regan Veterinary Group at our Bury Road branch. This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, over 4 days, with a 1 in 4-weekend rota, but no OOH, although we can be flexible for the right candidate. Isle of Wight - Small Animal Vet
The Carisbrooke Vets. You would be working a 4-day week with a 1 in 10 OOH rota and no full weekends, we are lucky to have an on-call nurse available to help our vets, as well as a second Vet on call. We are welcome to all experience levels. Our team currently consists of sixteen vets, sixteen nurses, three animal care assistants and a supportive management/admin team.
The island is only a short ferry trip from the mainland (Southampton, Portsmouth, or Lymington) and has very easy access to Southampton airport and fast train links to London. You would be joining a young, vibrant, and supportive team with a wide range of interests and experience. We also pay for four return car ferry crossing per year for our vets.

Farm Vet - Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight is a UNESCO biosphere - recognised as a unique natural and cultural environment. We’d love to hear from you whatever your aspirations - whilst ideally we are looking for someone with some experience who’d like to drive the farm side of the practice forward - we are also open to enquiries from newer graduates.
The farm side of our practice looks after the 10,000 cattle on the Island - mostly beef as well as about 30,000 breeding ewes. Many of our clients are working towards greater sustainability in their enterprises and we believe that as Vets we have a big role to play in empowering and supporting these farms in their transition. We run regular client meetings - with recent topics including integrated parasite management, dung beetle safaris (!), anti-microbial stewardship and heifer selection.

We are a busy 5 vet equine practice based in scenic Carlow in Ireland. We are looking for an experienced stud vet to cover one of our vets maternity leave from February 2024 to August/September 2024.
The work will primarily involve routine stud medicine and mare scanning on thoroughbred and sport horse studs with the usual general clinical work. We have a fully equipped modern clinic. An interest in lameness workup and diagnostic imaging is a bonus but not a prerequisite.

The RCVS Academy, a free digital learning platform for the veterinary professions, has launched ‘Nurse Return.’ The course is suitable for veterinary nurses returning to the Register after a period of more than five years, of whom it is a statutory requirement to complete a Period of Supervised Practice (PSP). It is also suitable for nurses who left the Register for a period of less than five years or those who have either not left the Register at all but have been pursuing roles outside of clinical practice, or perhaps never joined the Register after obtaining the fitness-to-practise qualification.
