Batorok Kennel is home to the beautiful Hungarian Vizsla (also known as the Hungarian Pointing Dog or Magyar Vizsla). Batorok Vizslas regularly attend dog shows, and we enjoy our time and successes exhibiting at dog shows. Dog handler on occasion for Gundog owners, though not at the moment. Batorok Vizslas are keen to step into the sporting rings in the new year, with aims to enter the Hungarian V

izsla duo in Rally Obedience, Dog Agility and Tracking. Being a gundog, we would also like to occasionally participate in Field and Retrieving trials but have yet to find the time due to our hectic show schedule. Currently home to:

This is a great video article recently shared to the Hungarian Vizsla of Australia group that I think is great to re-share.

We support the use of the Y Shape harness, and actually use the same brand you can see the Labrador has been fit with in this video - the purple Front Range harness from RuffWear.

If you choose a harness for every day use (ours on wear theirs on particular occasions), please choose one that doesn't restrict movement. Also, if you start a puppy on one, make sure the sizing is correct - these youngsters grow quickly!

Today we did new things!

Celeste (Gr Ch Batorok Moonlit Perfection) and her son Esker (Ch Batorok Maybe It Was Magic) had a turn at the SprintDog trial held by the American Staffordshire Terrier Club of QLD.

It has been many years since we have done anything lure coursing related after saying farewell to our lure course loving dog, Leo.

Celeste - fail! Ran really fast 1/3 of the way, threw a speedy u-turn and went back to her daddy! I have clearly lost my military voice because I can't even hear me calling her on the video that was taken much closer to me than Celeste was, so she had no chance.

Esker - first run, good. A little bit hesitant at the start but had a good time. Second run, great. Our friend who released him has said to ditch the whistle/recall and just let him 'course' next time as he was after the bags.

It was great to see some familiar faces we haven't seen in a long time. Lure coursing was a passion with Leo and for Rohan, Meegan and the Tollers. Sad but also happy memories.

Special mention to Kay Hutt who released Pesky-Esky for both his runs.

We are EXHAUSTED but very happy after a big weekend at the Yuggera Canine Club cluster.

Esker was awarded 4 of the 6 challenges, converting those to

🌟 3 Best of Breeds (lost one to Aunty Dusk)
🌟 Gained another 2 RUBOBs

Even though he was under the age for regular CACIB, Esker went Best of Breed and
🌟 BEST IN GROUP 4 at the FCI show on Saturday. He was also
🌟 BEST JUNIOR IN GROUP at the only show with all class runoffs.

We were meant to be doing an early morning drop off at the airport today but the flight was delayed by an hour! Esker and I thought we would try a swim at Nudgee instead... unfortunately the tide was all the way in. Still, it was a lovely cool walk along the water with the seabreeze 🌊🍃 Esker, Batorok Maybe It Was Magic... 7 months old and just a baby puppy in a big boys body.

Dusk, Gr Ch Batorok Mulberry Affair, living that show dog life with her favourite human Patrik! On Friday night Esker, Batorok Maybe It Was Magic, was Best of Breed and last night it was Dusk's turn.

Our guests came over and one very firmly told us that it was 'Pool Open Season', so we had to comply!
