Wish we saw more like the video below on equestrian social media. Videos seem to be full of short reins and high hands, holding the horses head in the preferred dressage position poll high whilst the horses back is hollow and weak. I’ve witnessed this style of riding very recently on a horse no where near ready to be in that kind of frame and the result is anxiety and an inability to flow forward without constant pushing by the rider. We need to stop holding horses in these false positions and take them through the scales of training, long, low and learning to lift through the back and carry weight in the hindquarters before we ask them for a more advanced frame.
