Our cat check-in went well this weekend. There were actually two little cuties but they were a little camera shy.

We reported back to their owner to give them peace of mind that their cats were fed and well.

The cats

A few years after we got Blake we decided he needed a pal of the feline variety. So we rescued Fender. Fender and Blake chilled out together but Fender actually became besties with Hook the border collie next door.

We thought we’d lost Fender once when he escaped one night and didn’t come home for about 2 weeks. We searched high and low for him, even Blake and Hook were sad. Then Fender turned up one night looking a bit thin and dishevelled. He’d gotten hurt on his little adventure and after a trip to the vets he had to have his tail removed.

And then we have our Queen Evie. Evie is our fat pampered cat. She doesn’t do much but she does give good cuddles. Evie tolerates Marvin…she puts up with his chasing and overbearing attention (we think she actually quite likes it!)

It is very important to us that this venture is not just about us making money. We want to support our community as well as support organisations that help animals.

We have decided that for every $1 we earn, at least 5c will go to an animal charity.

Our chosen charity for this year will be Tails of the Forgotten who are a non profit charity that rescues neglected abused and unwanted dogs. The dogs are placed in loving foster homes until they are fit and healthy and then the perfect forever home is found for them.

This is us with our parents. Our Dad, Scott is originally from NSW and our Mum, Nina is from the UK.

They met when Mum was backpacking here in Australia. They lived in London for 10 years and that’s where we were both born. We moved back to Australia in 2011.

We are all animal lovers and we have all grown up with family pets. In addition to our dogs, Blake and Marvin, we also have two rescue cats which we will tell you about in another post.

Our parents will be helping us with things like looking after keys to your property, entering and leaving safely, making sure everything is secure and of course will meet all of you before we work together.

Marvin became the 4th furry member of our family at the end of last year. He is a 10 month old pure Kelpie. He’s very smart and he loves going to the beach and dog park.

His favourite past time is trying to dig through to next door where his friends live and pushing his toys through a hole to the other side.

He literally destroys everything but is so cute and loves proper human hugs.

This is Blake. He’s been part of our family for 7 years now and we adore him. He was the first furry edition to our family.

He is a 12 year old, Corgi Cattle cross. He’s a pretty chilled and laid back dog and he’s so loving.

Blake likes to lie all day in the sun and never strays far from home. In fact if he’s gotten out by accident he’s been known to just sit on the driveway waiting for us or he goes to the neighbour to ask them to put him back in.

Our why…

We have started our dog walking/pet caring business because want to do something that helps the community as well as earning us money.

We love animals and want to provide a dog walking service for pet owners that need it. If you are away on holiday, don’t have enough time, are elderly, injured or simply someone who needs their dog to have a little more activity and attention than you can offer, we want to help you.

We are both hard working, honest and reliable and your dogs paws will be safe in our hands.

I’m 11 years old and in my final year at Caningeraba State School.

My favourite thing to do is play video games. I also play cricket, the occasional game of chess and I play the trumpet.
