I’m so happy that this Mumma (and her owner) has stepped up to try and take on these babies. Unfortunately, was not a go ahead. Time for Mumma to have a rest before she goes back home.
These babies are so lucky Mika and the Dare team in their lives. The next 8plus weeks are going to be tough, but the Dare team is tougher 🥰

Hopefully she takes to them!

We are going to take our Africa babies up to sunshine coast to see if a grieving mum will take them on. She sadly lost her babies to a preemie birth and is not coping so we are going to try the bubs with her to see if she accepts them 🥺💕

9 is a large amount for a dog to take on so we are mindful of the mums health and welfare but her owner is experienced so is willing to give it a go 🙌

We don't mind bottle feeding but being with a dog and getting organic dog milk rather than formula is always going to be the best option 💕

9 times 3-4 day old babies from an oppsie litter, where by the owners have put Mum straight back to work & leave the puppies….

DARE Inc have now taken over care and will be doing everything in their power to ensure they get the care they need.

When I do puppy handovers these are some of the things I tell new owners to avoid.

It’s great to see that most breeders are also on the same page !

Also reassurance to myself that I’m not being over reactive ensuring new owners know this.

Laser light play can lead to serious canine behavioural issues that can be sometimes impossible to rectify. Hose water play can lead to overexcitement & misdirected aggression. Stick throwing can cause serious injury. Repetitive ball throwing can lead to obsessiveness, repetitive strain injuries & acute injuries. Portions of soft toys can easily be ingested & cause intestinal blockages, expensive surgery or death.

My dogs have never seen a laser light. Have never indulged in hose water play (although I spend a lot of time with a hose in my hand). They may pick up the odd stick to run around with or chew on for a short while, but I don't encourage this & never throw sticks for my dogs. They don't know what ball play is & don't have soft toys.

Unless you have experienced an issue with one of these things, you probably won't see this post as important. But they are. Ignore this warning at your own peril.

Whilst both my dogs are ‘friendly’, Nymeria in particular can be lead reactive!
Generally, nothing eventuates from these random scenarios, but still not something I want to test the waters with.

Be respectful of your dogs boundaries and everyone else’s around you.

Hey! I’m Sammie. In case you were wondering, yes, I am as sweet as I look. My human says I’m super smart & eager to please. Whatever that means. I just like treats. So when you ask me to do something I’ll do it! I love the crunchie ones but I LOVE CHINKEN. It smells sooo good.

I love playing with the little humans. They play tug & the roll around with me. It’s so much fun. After a big play I like to sleep too. My bed is inside. They call it a crate. I know when I’m in there it’s time to rest. Even with all the noise inside that the little humans make, i still sleep. Sometimes the little humans take me out and then we all do zooms around the house. That’s the funnest.

Whilst I love the little humans, I like the big ones too. When the little ones go to bed the big ones bring me out and I sits with them while they watch this thing they call Netflix. I get all the cuddles with my brother too. We lay the couch until bed time.

Anyway, that’s me. I know my furever family are out there. I’m ready to go whenever they are. I know my hoomans I have now love me, they helped create me! Send them a message and they can send you photos and videos of me playing and being on my goodest behaviour!

If you haven’t met me yet, maybe you should! My name is Chonky, like chunky but with an OH! That’s because I was the heaviest smoosh out of allllll my siblings.

My hooman says I’m ready to find my furever pawrents, however the ones that have liked me haven’t been able to fully commit. I want to be loved!

Unlike my Dad I’m not a tinder boy or a one night stand. I’m a one family kinda guy, you know the type, the ones that love unconditionally just like me. The ones that love a cuddle. There’s lots of me to cuddle! The hoomans have started crate training me, I eat in there & that’s ok. At first I don’t like it, but the hoomans make it dark & then I have a nap. I like nap time. Afterwards I get treats!

Despite my hooman naming me Chonky the vet says I’m in exceptional health & the goodest boy. I love my treats & I’d love to learn more tricks! I love learning & love to play with the boys, the boys keep me so busy. They’re the little hoomans, they let me sneak inside!

• Enrichment •

Today we’ve combined feeding & sensory enrichment in the form of Lickimats with some bananas, blueberries & dog friendly peanut butter!
Lickimats are a perfect way to introduce new tastes, smells, & positive distractions.
Perfect addition to crate training or when you’re leaving the house. Positive reinforcement will help create a calmer dog, Assisi I ate something that is perceived as ‘negative’ ie you leaving for work, as something positive.
