Thanks to Ashford dog trial committee for running a great weekend. Always a huge effort to put a cattle and yard trial on together. It take a great many hands to run events like this. I know you've had plenty of hurdles in resent year but for a small community you pack a punch. I was lucky enough to put a few handy runs together with Gwydir Tess taking out the open. She's not quite ready to retire yet by the looks of it. Gwydir Georgina coming in second. It is also very rewarding to see dogs I've bred going well with other handlers making finals. Well done all. #

Thanks to the Jondaryan Woolshed Working Dog Spectacular held over the weekend. The committee went over and beyond to run a huge trial over 3 days. Such a great way to finish the first year of Queensland's Yard and Utility trialling under there new banner.
I personally had a brilliant weekend.
Gwydir Tess, 1st Qld Championship & Open Yard trial.
Gwydir Georgina, 3rd in the Qld Championship. 2nd in the Open Utility. 3rd Novice Utility.
Gwydir Zeva 3rd Novice Stockmans Challenge.
Gwydir Wilga 3rd Novice Yard trial. I also had the privledge to judge the maiden Utility trial, making for a big weekend. Thanks to Dog Food for there support, proving how good a product it is with my dogs having 22 runs over 3 days in some testing weather.

Had a wonderful school at Mungindi over the last 2 days.
My favorite thing about schools, is seeing handlers and their dogs early on the first day then camparing that to how they finish.
Well done to all participants for making my job so enjoyable.

Congratulations to the organising committee of the Qld Utility Champions. A huge effort was put in by Callum Storey, Shelly Burns and all their brilliant team of helpers.
Congratulations to Gary white, coming 1,2,3 in the championship. I always love the challenge of competing against the best. Its the best leveller and inspires me to keep learning and improving.

Had an awesome weekend at Allan & Marion Lee's property over the weekend. His and his family are the best at hosting schools. Good hospitality. Good livestock to work. Good facilities, and awesome people around them. Thankyou to all who participated. Lots was learnt on both sides of the fence.

Gwydir Tess is thankful she has moved indoors for the last week. Temperatures have been down to 10 below zero. 2 happy dog pups after having had a ceaser. Big thanks to friends and family that have looked after her while I was away doing a dog & stock education school at Cunnanulla Qld.

Weaning done 2023. We will still have a few bugs to iron out of these weaners, but happy kids, guessing very little weight loss. The first mobs drafted of cows Monday arv, the last Tuesday morning. nice way to finish a Friday arv. Not all plain sailing tho, have a fence to fix on our cooler, mob spooked and didn't pull up in time.

Haven't done an all cattle dog school for a while. Enjoyed being on the coal face at Kingstown helping drive production with stock handling technics. Thanks again to all the participants and our very accommodating hosts. Looking foward to tracking the progress.

Just returned this weekend from our yearly associations meeting. Recieved the trophy for 2021 bitch of the year, with Gwydir Tess.

Had an awesome weekend at the inaugural Walcha Utility & Cattle trial. Gwydir Tess came 1st in the Open Utility Trial, 5th in the Open Cattle trial. Congatulations to all the Gwydir Kelpies that ran over the weekend, it's awsome to see good genetics and good handlers come together.

Crossing our bridge.
This is following a previous post.
I needed to thin the mob down some more so as they don't fall off the other side of the bridge. Zeva took a few moves to get her into the right spot, but these ewes were happy to move past her.
Better than building fences. Gibbs is sitting behind me on my side of the bridge. No dogs needed to keep them coming.

Had a fantastic school at Newee Creek. Thanks to Cassie Clark for hosting us.
We had a great day with novice handlers right through to very experienced, the combination made my job easy.
Forgot to get a photo during the day, but good dog work often happens when we're nice and relaxed.
