How is this for the first real attempt at the canter 😍
Absolutely nailed it on the left leg and picked it up easily multiple times. Not quite as balanced on the right but you can see the potential and it will come with more work!!
Would you believe that this is Lola’s first time under saddle and only my second time on her ever 😱
What an absolute chill mare she is turning out to be! There hasn’t been a lot of work since our last session thanks to Covid isolation so she really is just taking things as they come! It’s a pretty good sign that she is this accepting with minimal work!
It’s a bit of a long video but worth a watch to see how relaxed she is during the process and how quickly she picks up on what ‘leg on’ means - yes there is a little bit of mare sass when I first asked her to walk 😂😂
Overall extremely stoked with how she is going and I can’t wait to share her journey!!
SHEBA UPDATE 😍
I’ve only had this little mare in work for 2.5 weeks and she has blown me away. Such a sweet and very willing little mare with the best attitude!!
She will be returning to her owner this weekend and heading back to be his daughters full in pony so I thought I’d take the opportunity to get her out and about with a young rider before she heads home!
Charlee is only 10 years old and been riding for a few years on her trusty steed Sebby. It was a big step for her to ride a new horse at pony club with a bit more height and ALOT more go than she is used to 😂
After a practice ride on Friday she felt confident enough and she did me so proud.
I’ve been working on Shebas aids and seemed to have worked her out quite well. She is very responsive and although forward she also listens.
As you can see in the video she was exposed to a lot of experiences including groups of riders riding together, games and even had a go at XC!! She really did perfect and Charlee rode her just how I asked her too and proved the methods work 😊
I’m looking forward to getting her back to her owner and seeing how they progress together!
