Pashmina was a super handy polo pony played by George Hill before retiring and becoming a broodmare. We can’t wait to see this little guy out on the polo field in a few years time! 🐎

Did you miss out on getting your nominations in for the 2024 Downs Polo Club Campdraft at Allora Showgrounds? Don’t worry, we’ve reopened nominations until Friday 20th September. We’ve also removed the 8 first round run limit.

What you need to know…
▪ Join us at the Allora Showgrounds on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September
▪ Stock levies are included in all nomination fees
▪ Bar and canteen available
▪ No Junior and Juvenile riders in aged events

▪ Maiden Draft commences at 6am on Saturday 5th October
▪ Novice Draft will start after the Juvenile on Saturday afternoon
▪ Novice and Open Draft completed Sunday 6th October starting at 6am

Everdeen recently came to us for a ‘working holiday’. She was exposed to the big wide world of everything ‘farm’ & took it all in her stride - tractors, bulldozers, diggers, trucks, a donkey, cattle, dogs, cats, creeks - you name it! We are happy to receive such positive news from her owner Nicole that Everdeen is much more confident in conquering all the things that she would have considered ‘scary’ before 🙌🏼

Not picture perfect photos but patiently waiting for dinner showing off his new dark liver chestnut summer coat. An extremely hot weekend at the polo means a good few days rest for the big boy.

Dutton has commenced his breaking in with us & he’s already shown what a quick learner he is! 🤩 He’s slowly getting introduced to our routine & to our fabulous lead pony & has taken everything in his stride.

Dutton left a few days ago to get broken in for his owner Brave Smash / Montmartre.

GAG Razor’s full sister GAG Sizzle 2017 is currently in the UK with Lachie Gilmore. His two other full sisters, GAG Rozy and GAG Rozita are going next year.

GAG Razelle was born at Ellerston in 2007 out of Ruby who played at Ellerston for Stuart Gilmore. Ruby was out of Sapphire by Monty. Sapphire was a NZ TB mare bought by Ellerston from Ratty Bray.

Razelle played the highest levels in Australia until she was 15 yo. She was played by Glen Gilmore, Lachie Gilmore, Max Charlton and also Jesse Bray in the 2017 World Cup in Sydney who wanted to take her to the USA.

What a great weekend to finish off the Downs Polo Club season!

Noodles (There’s A Dream x Encryption) a 6yo OTT TB was lucky enough to come away with champion pony in the C grade with winning team Downs Webster Cavanagh - this is his first year of polo & he’s showing enormous talent 🙌🏼

Katie Porteous won Champion Club Pony with Friendly - a mare she recently purchased from the Ainsleys in NZ. Congratulations Katie!

Will Gilmore & Espree (owned by David & Kim Coulton) came away with Champion Pony in the A Grade and was donated a service to Highlander 🐎

Our wonder groom Hannah Billett also had a win in the D grade - kicking goals for her first year of playing! 🐎

We will be donating a service to Highlander (Cubitan x Silana) to the best playing pony in the A Grade at the Downs Shield this weekend. Highlander’s eldest progeny Zara (pictured 2nd) won champion pony last weekend at the Silvershop Bracelet tournament.

We have just recently broken in a few 2yo & 3yos by him & we can definitely say he passes on his temperament, trainability & talent to his progeny 🐎🙌🏼
