Nutrition presentation by Advance pet food - I was skeptical about this one before I heard this talk but WOW, the knowledge of the speakers - a vet and a dog breeder with 40years experience - was fabulous. Did you know Advance meets the AFCO standards for dog nutrition based on age and stage and complies with dietary guidelines AS5812?? I didn’t! So important that in this unregulated industry, we are being careful that we are feeding our beloved dogs the highest standard of nutrition.
Therapy Pets Australia- Do you know the difference between an Assistance Dog, a Therapy Dog and a Companion Animal? I didn’t! Now I do 💗. Such great work is done by this company to evaluate and educate puppies, adult dogs and humans about becoming a Therapy Dog or Therapy Dog handler. HINT HINT: not all dogs (or people) can be or have a Therapy Dog! It takes particular personalities and traits to ensure the safety of dogs and clients to provide that special appropriate furry support.
igroom hub - a great talk about grooming requirements and tools of the trade, how to educate our buyers on what to expect and ongoing education online portals.
TheXmethod - we learned about our customers, the customer journey and how we might increase customer satisfaction with fun interactive questions and small group chats. Breeders wear MANY hats and this area of learning is easy to overlook so it was great to open our minds to focus more on this aspect of being breeders 🤗
So overall, this past weekend was a raging success! I went in thinking I’d be happy if I learned a couple of things and met a couple of breeders BUT what I got out of it blew my expectations out of the water. SO worth it!
While I was busy this weekend soaking up all the learning at the National Groodle Association inaugural conference, 3 of Sunny and Billy’s pups who turned SIX months last week, caught up for a play date in Canberra! Love these gorgeous updates!
What an amazing day!!! I have learned SO much and I am so grateful for the opportunity to meet and learn from the very humble, educated, honest and caring breeder, Jeanette Forrey from . She took us through everything from the step by step puppy curriculum to the puppy evaluations and placement and even the problems and mistakes that can occur. No gate keeping of important information! Thanks Jeanette 💗
We also learned from media and marketing specialist Hive Media and a new company called Love My Dog Club that offers finance for puppy purchases with $1500 worth of bonus products in the online shop and enables puppy buyers to store all their pup’s data in one place 🥳
And we’re not done yet! Tomorrow we will be hearing from dog trainers and groomers and more!
But I must say my absolute favourite part has been meeting so many of the gorgeous breeders faces that I have been following and messaging for so long, and some who are completely new to me! What a great opportunity to build strong collaborative networks.

What a difference a couple of months makes (plus a LOT of hard labour laying turf!). This side patch of grass was where Sunny and Lacey would launch from the patio to do zoomies so it had a few patches of dirt that grew and grew and grew after lots of rain and cleaning puppy toilet training trays in that spot.
Let’s see how long this beautiful green patch lasts when the rope comes down!
Where the girls prefer to sleep 🤣🤣. Don’t stress about comfy beds and plush cosy nooks- tiles are apparently the best! They also love a good clothing pile or lounge.

Got to visit our beautiful Mr Yellow, now Zuma, the other day 💗 So lucky I live 5 minutes from this little guy and his lovely family. His chesty white patch is still there and he’s got lighter areas around his nose and mouth, stunning little boy. Already knows sit and shake too and weighing in at just over 9kg at 3months old.

And then there were none 💗. We all said an extra special goodbye to our little Miss Mint, now Summer, this morning before we drove to meet her new family half way between our homes.
She has been such a joyful presence this last week, keeping us on our toes and being smothered with love while we’ve had her on her own. Now it’s time to hand her over to be adored by her new family including 2 brothers and a fur sister to keep her company. What a lucky little lady 🥰🐶
Such a weird feeling to have no puppies in the house - it’s bittersweet because we’ll miss them so much but we know each and every family that was blessed to add one of our pups to their fam already loves them beyond words.

Mr Green is off to his new home today 💚. His new human brother and sister don’t know anything about this big surprise! I can’t wait to hear about their reaction 🥰. Will await news on his new name - maybe Monty, maybe Leroy, maybe something the kids pick! Mr Green’s couch snuggles will be so missed but we know he’s found a beautiful loving family 🐶💗
Massive day for Miss Pink, now known as Ziva and Mr Silver - both being the very first Illawarra Groodles to take to the sky! ✈️✈️
Miss Pink has arrived safe and sound in her new home is Brisbane and I’m guessing Mr Silver is very close to arriving home to Tasmania and I’ll hear from his new pawrents soon 💗💚.
My heart is so full and also a little bit broken as we said goodbye to three more of our precious pupperoos. The thing that makes it easier is knowing that these little heart stealers are all going to the most loving and beautiful homes 💗

Growing like weeds 🥰. A few modifications needed to avoid escapees - Mr Blue is Houdini and even managed to get over the wire when I had it on the ground! Nothing a gate, some elevation and magic cable ties can’t fix 🤣. It may not be pretty but it keeps these babies safe 💗.
For cheeky Mr Blue the escape artist, he had a turn in the closed crate overnight. Cried for less than 5 minutes, then cried 2 times at 1:30am and then woke up to be let out at 5:30 - NO POO! And only a tiny excited wee for the morning in the crate. I call that a success 🥳🥳

These pups absolutely LOVE their outdoor playtime. They explore different surfaces and textures. They climb the wobbly empty clam shell, some mornings it’s filled with water and they have a splash. They climb the ramp and steps - some more tentative than others but all overcoming. They sit on top of the elevated dog bed and sleep under it in the shade.
All of their needs are met. They are fed and then play. They are cuddled and then sleep. They know the world is a safe place and humans are kind.
They are ready to join your family with warm, snuggly open hearts 💗

It may be a new year, but our routine stays the same. Look at these adorable faces that greet me each morning 😍😍
Pic 2 is of the crate and toileting area - as you can see these pups are SMART! They have already mastered poo on the trays and most of the wees. Often front paws are on the grate and back paws off so they think they’re weeing in the right place 🤣🤣We put a disposable puppy pad under the grate and it absorbs everything. We change this multiple times a day.

What a fun photo shoot! It lasted all of 15-20mins with the help of 3 of my kids to help puppy wrangling 🤣

I got asked today - “what will your pups look like when they are grown up?”
These two gorgeous dogs above are Hazel and Ollie. They are both standard red fully grown Groodles. Aren’t they stunning? Hazel has what’s known as an in between coat with a looser curl and Ollie has a tighter curl. Both are F1b Groodles like our litter! We are hoping and thinking our pups will look like them 💗
We have carefully chosen Sunny and her beau Billy for their genetic and coat compatability. Their pups will be to the standard Groodle breed standards, that means between 20-30kg and 50-60cm at wither (above shoulders). Sunny is 23kg and Billie is 27kg.
Sunny’s coat was vibrant red as a pup and has faded to a softer orange. Billy is vibrant red with no fading. Sunny is low shedding, small tumbleweeds every now and then. Billy is a standard poodle so is non shedding. All of their pups will have curly fur, some more tight/wool than others. They will all have the typical Groodle bearded face.
Both Sunny and Billy are absolute love bugs that love nothing more than to be cuddled by their humans. Sunny was quite timid as a pup but is confident and calm as an adult dog. Billy is a great stud. Huggable, loyal and playful. These pups will be the perfect mix of tender and cheeky, inquisitive and couch buddies.

I love how they all zonk out at exactly the same time. It’s like clockwork - wake up, have breakfast, play, poop, play again and then the batteries run out after 15-20mins. It’s so cute 🥰 Having a predictable routine for these little ones helps them to feel safe and secure. They know what’s happening. They know what’s expected of them. And they also tell ME what they want to do! If I’m too slow setting up the clean side of the pen after they finish eating, they all have little squeaks and wag their little tails and try to escape over the side… we don’t have long before height extension will be needed! They show me how excited they are to go and play, and I provide different stimulating activities. We have soft play stairs, a tunnel, different textured mats including snuffle mats and lots of different toys. We have tried grass too but the rain is making it a bit harder to go out again. This is what you get when you choose an ethical and invested breeder. I am focused on providing the most diverse, loving, safe and enriching introduction to the world for every single pup. They are well adjusted and settled into the ebbs and flows of everyday life with a family. They are acclimatised to noise and stimulation but they also know how to self settle and relax. I can’t believe there’s less than 3 weeks until these beautiful babes are ready to go to new homes. I adore every single one 😍.
