A little life update from Miss Nashi now Jericho 💕
During the week her mum had had a bit of a rough day with a few meltdowns happening but this is what she had to say about Jeri’s temperament -
“But Jeri, like a champ, just sits there and watches it all unfold, or sleeps through the whole ordeal hahahahaha she’s definitely not a sensitive one!”
She was hand picked for this family for this very reason. She was temperament tested at 7 weeks which showed that she has low tenderheartedness, which translates in family life with being “unshakeable” and calm within herself when chaos happens around her.
When we hear that a pup is “tenderhearted” we think “cute and cuddly and gentle” but what it actually means is that they break down when their world is uncertain. They take on the emotions of the people around them, which means that instead of being an emotion support TO the family, they end up falling apart and not coping and being another family member that needs additional support…. Not ideal!
If you’re looking for an emotional support or therapy dog, make sure the breeder does temperament testing so you can look out for low tenderheartedness and resilience! Not to mention testing for touch, sight and sound sensitivity traits. It’s VITAL!
