RSPCA Illawarra Volunteer Branch Volunteer Branches are the backbone of the RSPCA's work in regional NSW. Each branch is run exclusive The RSPCA NSW Illawarra Shelter is located in Unanderra.

It provides care and shelter to abandoned and neglected animals, including cats, dogs, livestock, pocket pets and poultry. The shelter is the animal holding facility for both Shellharbour and Wollongong City Councils, housing stray cats, dogs and livestock. It is supported by an active and dedicated volunteer branch who help with fundraising and maintaining the gardens.
