2024 SEASON UPDATE
Well we’ve come out of hibernation….
We collectively raised $765 for FightMND last ( very short ) season . A big thankyou for a large donation from a major embassy.
Still too early to predict ripening times , however probably earlier than the norm….depends on cold weather hanging on.
The apricots have woken up, and a new early cherry variety Royal Lee , is thinking about it.
Let’s hope for a great and predictable season !!

We have had an unexpected great crop of Morellos ( sour cherries ) this year ! We still have 16 x 5kg boxes left . Considering a lightning Syd/ Wollongong run Wednesday or Thursday . $65 per box plus $5 delivery . Order 5 boxes for free delivery …talk to me ! 0418462821.
We have definitely finished the sweet cherries.

Well that’s a wrap for our 2023 season. We are now officially CLOSED ( on Dec 10 !!! ) . The strangest weather in our 26 years here. The season was running two weeks earlier than normal, and a lovely 4 day heatwave to end on ……
HIGHLIGHT…Last week The Cherry Festival weekend was a great success even with a large rain event on Saturday night.
Thankyou to all that supported us , and see you next year ! Just don’t make plans til we see how the springtime September blossom pans out..an indication to the timing of the harvest.

Well the overnight rain did not eventuate !! Also Sunday has the ‘all clear’ ……come and pick some beautiful Ron’s and get a hot coffee !

Weather report 😀, according to Elders Weather , rain mainly falling overnight , not the day , so fingers crossed we may just get the odd shower or two .Sunday is looking ok .
We have lots of beautiful Rons from now on. Cafe has plenty of coffee and cherry icecream.

Opening 11/11 daily til end of season . Talk about crazy weather so far , it was -1 degree a few nights ago . Not enough ripe early cherries so far, and it seems the birds are loving them. The Rons have set really well , due 18/11 ‘ish and onwards ? Expect to start with Supremes , Early Sweet , and Eagles next week. Here we go…🍒🎶

Well it’s coming around to that time of year again ! Our Ron’s and Lapin varieties have set really well . Our hot spring start and now cold nights have us scratching our heads for an intended start time ….definitely by Nov 11 , but sooner……??? Think about 7+ days earlier than last few years . We will update asap . Perfect conditions so far . Looking forward to making our cherry gelato .🍒🍦

Update 27/12/22

It has been unexpectedly busy and hot, we have been PICKED OUT and our season has come to an abrupt finish.

To anyone that had a booking unfortunately it is canceled as there are no cherries to pick.
There may be other orchards with cherries remaining, please check with them or the Young visitors centre.

Update 20/12/22
The late season has made it very hard to predict exact ripening times for cherry varieties. We apologise for late return of messages and emails , apart from being swamped, trying not to let you drive for hours without great cherries to come to. Our late varieties like Sweetheart , Sweet Georgia are looking sensational. Pick your own cherries are $10 a kg , still no entry fee. We stress you can sample cherries as you pick, but refrain from gorging handfulls as we are trying to keep as many visitors getting cherries for their buckets.
We will not be open Christmas Day, however will be open 23,24, 26,27,28,29,30 +? When we are picked out , we will close for the season. We have great cherry icecream made here. Cafe operating for snacks, and drinks only. See our website allambieorchard.com for further details.🍒

Today fully booked for PYO . Cafe still open to all.
Sunday , nearly full ( for later arrivals space available..1pm +)
17/18th will have great Lapin cherries as well . Not nearly as busy…
Open daily weekdays 9-5, weekend 8-5.30
$9 per kg , no entry fee.

Well our Rons Cherries are so close to being ripe…….
Unfortunately 🫣 not for this Cherry Festival weekend.
Cafe will be open , we will DEFINITELY be open Dec 10 onwards .
We have a fantastic crop , worth the wait.

Update for weekend 26/27 November
Still waiting for ripe cherries….dealing with a VERY limited supply of our early varieties , so…. with the sunshine starting to kick in, next weeks Cherry Festival 3/4 December is looking like a firm beginning at long last with the Rons Variety coming on. Stay tuned.

Weather still cold no warm sun, so..
No ripe cherries this week
Delay any planned trip til at least Nov26/27, December should be great ( as long as it doesn’t pour with rain ). We will have plenty of beautiful cherries when they are ready and ripe . Similar scenario to last year. Thanks for your understanding . 🍒🤪

This year we raised $1180.00 for FightMND , not too bad considering we lost the first 3 weeks due to wet weather, and slow-ripening cherries !
Only 5 months to go for the 2022 season to start 🤪🍒!!
