Lucy is now on the lookout for her special snuggly buddy human(s)! Someone that can continue to give her the loving that she has received in foster care. She is desexed, house and crate trained. Loves to be with you as much as possible, but also enjoys naps in the sun (just not too much). Enjoys the company of other dogs, untested on cats. Walks extremely well on lead. Is fed a raw diet, which will need to be continued.

If you think you have what it takes, please reach out.

**ongoing medical treatment will be required**

Wow, wow, just wow! I am beyond grateful to the anonymous donator(s) who has graciously donated more than enough funds to cover the first 6 months of Lucy Goosey’s vaccination to desensitiser her to her allergens. We wish we could thank you personally, so please DM the admin if you wish to be known (even to us privately).

🙏🐶💙

So we will now ordered the vaccination and hopefully soon we will see Lucy finally be free her allergies.

Well the tests are in and pretty much our Miss Lucy Goosey is allergic to the grass in the yard, dust, ants and moths.

So what does this mean for Lucy? It means that in order to recover she needs to undergo desensitisation to these allergies.

The treatment is a vaccine made especially formulated for Lucy’s allergens. This may be ongoing and the initial phase is for 6 months. But we won’t know until phase one is completed.

Photos of her undergoing the treatment by Queensland Veterinary Specialists, and wanted to thank them for their expertise during the procedure. (photos supplied by QVS)

The first 4 images are the reports the 3 following are of Lucy during treatment. Please view with caution as it may be upsetting. And please no harsh comments we are doing everything we can to get this lovable girl the treatment that she needs.

Surgery went well, at home recovering with the cone of ultimate kneecapping. She has quite a few stitches that go right through her ear to hold the skin in place to prevent fluid buildup. Now we prepare for the dermatologist next week!! Here’s hoping that we can get some clear understand /direction.

Hi All, just wanted to update you on Lucy.

She has now got an aural hemotoma (burst blood vessel in her ear flap) which is causing her a lot of grief. This is a side effect of the allergies. The only way to fix it is surgery. She is book in to see a dermatologist on the 21st March. But the surgery needs to happen sooner rather than later.
The surgery for the hematoma is approximately $900, and the cost to see the dermatologist is $1000.

I struggle to ask for help, but this is not for me so I have to put my ego aside and do what’s best for Lucy. So I’m putting this post up if you could please assist her in her road to recovery we would be eternally grateful.

The cone of shame is to try to prevent it from getting bigger but it’s not working.

Donations can be made via her Go Fund me page https://gofund.me/c9f7fa97

Note, my other puppa has been diagnosed with an brain tumor too so it’s a real struggle

Well that’s disappointing. Arrived at the vet this morning to attend our Dermatologist appointment with only to be told by the staff that they had received notification that the attendance was cancelled. So Lucy’s appointment had been cancelled. No notification was received from Dermatologist at all. No phone call, no email, no text nothing. The staff at Vetcare made several calls and all were unanswered.

To say I’m a little peeved is an understatement.

Where to from here~ looks like a referral needs to start again, but this time will be looking at having to travel to either Brisbane or Sydney (both 4 hours travel) to get Lucy the care she needs. And more than likely another 2-3 months to wait….

Name of the clinic has been removed due to threats of legal action.

Hi All, just wanted to provide an update on Lucy, in December we just went for a quick check up. As noted on the previous post her weight is now in the healthy weight range. She is still suffering from flare ups of her skin and we have been referred to a dermatologist. Thankfully the vet clinic we attend have a dermatologist that visits. She is booked in for 2nd March at 9:30am. This will be to undertake skin scraps and cytology. There is a huge potential that she will require so immunotherapy. This will be a monthly cost for approximately 12 months to desensitise her to those things that heighten her reactions. We would greatly appreciate any support to get us through this as last year was a bit tough having her sister go through 2 TTO surgeries and looking like one may need to be reasssessed.
