Pond w**d varieties are a good alternative for oxygen production instead of air pumps. They works best for small fish like mollys, fantails, swordfish and fighters (beta fish).

Platies can make great tank mates for other fish but they can get a bit territorial wen they're hungry. If you pair them as male and female be prepared for breeding. To avoid cross breeding always choose the same type of platies.
