A busy double-drop weekend with our monthly donation of 50 food parcels to Todmorden Food Drop In and 10 for our weekly drop to Halifax Community Fridge .
Thank you to Sally, Ian, Dale, Philippa and Kirsty for purchase, packing and distribution. Also to the very kind sewers who decided to make some snuffle toys and treats! Oh and Bert Cavapoo too for looking after the food for the delivery! 😁

Today we've been to Halifax Community Fridge again, to drop off another 10 food parcels for them to distribute to their service users. Thanks to Kirsty for volunteering to be the lead for this drop. 😁
If you'd like to help out with Mabel's Meals, there are lots of ways to help with collection of goods, deliveries and especially supporting fundraising events (a schedule will be posted in the next few weeks), so just get in touch. ☺️

Today was our first delivery to the Halifax Community Fridge. Thanks to Abid (in the pic) and Was for being so accommodating and doing some of the hard work. Another 10 dog food parcels that will be distributed each week for the next for the next 3 months and we can build from there. Our volunteer Kirsty has agreed to take on the Lead position with other volunteers ready to fill any gaps. 😁
This was a cheaper drop, due to the donation of 3 bags of food by OscarM's peeps, who are buying and donating an extra bag of food with their monthly delivery! 😍

What a year for us!
We have donated 424 dog food parcels, over 150 tins and 20 cat food parcels!
Loads of plans to build next year with more fundraising and of course that means more food drops!

Over the past week I've been getting to know some of the team at the Halifax Community Fridge and working out how we can help them. They have a fantastic team and are the only food store locally open 365 days a year, with extra services on top such as hot meals!
Today I had the pleasure of dropping off over 100 tins of food for their clients and we have agreed we will be supplying food each week starting soon.
While I was there today, I met the first pooch we will be helping, the gorgeous, very sweet boy Chaplin! He is so lucky to have his dad who hasn't just helped him with his confidence as a rescue but also spends a significant portion of his Universal Credit on making sure he has all he needs! 🥰

50 dog food parcels, 20 cat food parcels plus toys and treats for all who wanted them. 😁

Happy Dog House UK have a number of fundraising events happening over the next few weeks with funds being split between us, Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group and Calderdale Badgers.
Events include a dog walk in the dark, a pub quiz, a music night, an online dog show and an auction.

This festive season, we're partnering with Mabel's Meals, a wonderful local charity dedicated to supporting pet owners in need across Calderdale. They provide essential pet food and supplies to ensure no furry friend goes without.

🦴 Donate Treats & Toys: We're collecting dog treats and toys at our facility. Your generous donations will bring joy to pets in need this Christmas.

📅 Drop-Off Location: House of Hound Hydrotherapy or Sniff and Trail UK sessions.

As you may know, Diane Nicholls and her dog Tia were aiming to walk 1000 miles this year, in support of Mabel's Meals!

Well we are pleased to announce, they smashed that total and raised £245, so a huge thank you to them both for all of there efforts!

I'm overwhelmed by the number of people who were able to join us or who have supported Mabel's first Birthday Walk, especially due to the abysmal conditions - driving rain, cold and those winds! Oddly weather Mabel loved in her cosy coat. 😁
Yet it was a lovely walk really. 🤣
Most of the dogs weren't particularly phased and it was the owners grinning and bearing it! 😁
Thanks to Ellie, Oscar, Oatey, Benny, Tia, Ella, Esme, Scrump, Enzo, Jazz, Bert, Luna and Daisy who joined us with their peeps. ❤️ But also Maddie, Porter, Bucky, Dottie, Coal, Bilbo, Gem, Oscar, Harry, Buddy, Gimli, Bob, Mabel and Molly who supported in other ways with their peeps. ❤️
Happy Dog House UK who have contributed the goodies for the pooch party bags, Jollyes Halifax for just a few of their many Festive Tins, and Hazel B, Mabel's neighbour who made the human buns, which were most appreciated at the end!
We'll tot up and announce the grand total in a day or two... Once we've all dried out / defrosted... 🤣❤️

Tomorrow we'll meet at the junction of Vicar Park Rd and Paddock Lane (HX2 0NT) at 1.30pm to start our walk around Roils Head Moor in memory of Mabel's birthday. 😁
If anyone fancies a windy walk with good humour, please feel free to join us. The more the merrier. ❤️

We picked up an unbelievable MOUNTAIN of food on Saturday! Way more than we expected!
We will distribute all we can and gift any we can't to other rescues and causes so thank you! A lot of dogs are going to be fed by this very kind donation. ❤️

I've bags ordered for Benny, Daisy, Bert, Oscar, Oatey, Harry, Tia, Gimli, Bob, , Scrump, Gwen, Molly, Mabel, Bran, Sybil and Eddy. Some being collected on the walk and others at different prearranged times.
