Yesterday we enjoyed another day of Cake and Coffee at Cromwell Bottom and were very well looked after by the volunteers of the Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group!
We raised an amazing total of £427.41 and had a great day meeting new people and dogs!
Thanks so much to Simon and the team for yet again making us feel so welcome!
Thanks to Sally, Alison and Sarah who manned the stalls and to those who baked, cooked and crafted! Plus to Philippa and Ian for doing the prep and transportation. ❤️
We will go live tomorrow for our raffle draw! 🤞

🥳 AMAZING NEWS! 🥳
We have been supplying 2 food banks with 98 food parcels a month for some time now and have been so pleased to be able to supply this support consistently. Due to a fantastic summer of fundraising and support and the specific grants / support from Jollyes Halifax - The Pet People , Thomson Reuters, KONG and Harveys of Halifax we are delighted to announce we have been able to increase our support.
Halifax Community Fridge is now receiving 15 food parcels a week and our new friends at Calder Food Support are receiving 10 parcels a week.
We took the first donation down on Saturday and the team, especially Sue, Diane and Em have welcomed us warmly and already gifted some of the parcels.
Todmorden Food Drop In will continue to receive 50 parcels a month too of course!

That means we are now gifting 150 food parcels a month! 🥳

Plus as last year, we have extra goodies coming for Christmas with treats in every food parcels for December, toys in the final drops before the 25th and some extra animal support - which we'll share soon!

BUT we can only do what we do with the help and support of so many...
All who spread the word, donate, turn up to events, the crafters who are busy sharing their skills, the volunteers who are the face of MM and the trustees - Diane, Shell, Ian and Philippa who keep the wheels turning!

The weather forecast is sunny intervals and light winds, so celebrate the storm passing, come for a walk and pop in to the visitor centre for coffee and cake! Plus we've got the compulsory raffle with some lovely prizes and a small range of the goods made and donated by our Crafters Group! ❤️

Our Crafters Group are VERY excited to be attending their first public craft fair just down the road in Sowerby Bridge at the beautiful Christ Church (bottom of Tuel Lane). It will be the perfect place to start some Christmas shopping and get in to the spirit! 🌲⛄❄️🎁

Amazing news from our charity partner, Jollyes Halifax - The Pet People
Through the kind generosity of their customers over the past couple of months they have been able to donate over 1000 tins of dog food!
This will help enormously with our
monthly food parcels and we can't thank them enough for their ongoing efforts.
Thanks to Megan and all her colleagues, especially Stephen who has been at the forefront of raising awareness so far.

What a great month October has been for Mabel's Meals!

We couldn't manage everything without our team of Volunteers, so a big thank you to you all! Last month they gave hours of their time at Harveys of Halifax, raising funds through games and spreading the word about our wonderful charity! The volunteer crafters have also been busy getting things ready for some upcoming stalls, watch this space for details! Don't forget to check out our Volunteer page if you are interested in getting involved with any of our fundraising or other activities!

As always, we are reliant on donations coming in regularly to support our work, and along with numerous people who wish to remain anonymous, the following people have also made direct donations this month too, so thank you so much!

The Thomson Reuters Social Impact Institute has awarded us £715 following an application made by Diane Nicholls on our behalf!

And we've received a substantial amount from the Kong Company after someone put our Charity forwards, thank you so much to whoever that was! More details will be given about this soon!

Because of the amazing events we have done and the donations we have received, we are able to increase the number of food parcels give out each week, meaning more dogs are now being helped through difficult times!
