মাংস আমদানির বিষয়ে বাংলাদেশ অ্যাগ্রো ফিড ইনগ্রিডিয়েন্টস ইম্পোটার্স অ্যান্ড ট্রেডার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের (বাফিটা) ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট মো. গিয়াস উদ্দিন খাঁন বলেন, কোভিড -১৯ এবং রাশিয়া ও ইউক্রেন যুদ্ধের কারণে বিশ্বব্যাপী পোল্ট্রি, মৎস্য ও ডেইরি ফিডের (খাদ্য) দাম বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে পশুখাদ্য উৎপাদনে অত্যাবশকীয় কাঁচামালের দাম। এ কারণে দেশে পোলট্রি মুরগি, ডিম, মাছ, দুধ ও মাংসের দাম কিছুটা বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। তবে দাম বৃদ্ধির অযুহাতে আমদানি করে ভোক্তাদের খাওয়াতে হবে, এটা ঠিক নয়। যাতে করে পণ্য মূল্য কমে আসে সেই উদ্যোগ নিতে হবে সরকারকে। তা না হলে আমাদের মধ্যে আমদানি নির্ভরতা তৈরি হবে। ফলে দেশীয় উৎপাদন ব্যাহত হবে, ¶তিগ্রস্ত হবে দেশীয় খামার ও খামারিরা। যার নেতিবাচক প্রভাব পড়বে কর্মসংস্থান ও জাতীয় অর্থনীতিতে।
