Do you have a horse that competes in an discipline?

With effect from 3rd February 2025, it is now a requirement for all FEI registered horses to have their vaccinations recorded on the FEI HorseApp 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, as well as in the horse’s passport.

Please let our secretarial team know if your horse has an FEI passport/recognition card when you make your horse’s vaccination appointment and allow a little extra time on the day, as the administering vet will need to ensure the vaccine is recorded both on the app and in the horse's passport at the same time.

🐴 Please ensure that the horse's FEI passport/recognition card and national passport is available on the day of your appointment.

🐴The attending vet will need to photograph the FEI passport/recognition card on the day of the vaccination.

Ammonia is a gas created when bacteria break down the chemicals naturally present in your horse’s urine. Humans can smell ammonia at concentrations of 30 parts per million (ppm) in the air, with concentrations of 50ppm resulting in nose and eyes irritation. Multiple studies have found that the concentration of ammonia in a horse’s stable should not exceed 10ppm as it can cause inflammation in the equine respiratory tract, decrease local immunity, and increase infection rates.

For horses with respiratory issues such as Asthma (previously known as COPD or RAO), ammonia can be an exacerbating factor, triggering flare ups when the horse is stabled more often e.g. over winter.
