First time catching red claw crayfish.
We didn’t know what to expect, the size of them shocked us, they are massive compared to the yabbies we catch, caught this guy Awesome spot we spent most days down by the lake, beautiful spot and the red claw pizzas are amazing 🙌

It may not be a Spanner crab but look at the wild redclaw crayfish that our founders Les and Lyn Apps caught back in the early 2000’s. Over half a metre long!!

The theme for this year's Canning Show is AQUACULTURE and we've been asked to create a display. So I've had to do a bit of research!! Aquaculture is not something I'm particularly familiar with. 😂
So here are some red claw crayfish. Quite fascinating critters - they grow quickly, breed naturally in ponds and have a simple life cycle and are considered a delicacy.
So my Year 4s have done some observational drawing. Pick the real one!

Had this little blue crayfish for one month (since 22nd June). Yesterday he done his first shed in my care, and the colours on him now are really popping. Something a little bit different and adds a bit of interest. 🦞 🦞 💙
